I had a similar Frigidaire/Electrolux front loader for 10+ years that worked like a champ. Unfortunately, it began to have issues with not spinning clothes consistently and the repairs were going to be more than it would cost to buy a new washer. Of course I think having moved that washer 3 times probably didn't help it's longevity. I bought this one and it is such an improved model at a reasonable price I'm almost glad the other one broke!
I bought this washer a month ago upon the recommendation of the saleswomen in a local appliance store. I am very happy with the performance- the size of the washer load is great- it has reduced the number of loads I need to do each week. I love the speed of the spin-which leaves the clothes slightly damp and quickly dryable. I will recommend to my friends as well!
I have an Electrolux vacuum cleaner that I bought in the 1960's and I still use it! My new Electrolux washing machine washes the clothes beautifully. I'm just sorry I did not purchase it sooner. I would have saved myself a lot of aggravation.
My last front loader was from 2003, I fixed a handful of things on it over the years (pump, spring, struts) but I finally couldn't fix it. I was wary of more electronics and "features". But I really like the options this washer has, the size is amazing- even though HEAVY is a 93 minute cycle, I can fit what would have been two loads in my old washer. The first thing I did was wash 12 sleeping bags, linens (towels, sheets) for a camp I help run. It performed great! I used the delicate 28 minute cycle and 2 sleeping bags at once then hung them to dry. I leave the door open after each use, so far no weird mold issues (my last washer didn't have that) So far very pleased
