A little closer together

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought an Aura frame for our mom in the US and one for our dad in Germany. We wanted both to be a bit more part of our lives and share in our experiences even if we aren’t able to enjoy these moments together (especially during COVID times).
The cool thing is we’re able to either upload the same pictures on both frames or choose to upload a certain pic to just one of the frames and use the same app for both!
The app is really simple to use and the upload only takes a fraction of time. Our parents are also on the app and can download the pictures if they want -for example- to print them out or store them on other devices.
One thing I love is that the frame displays live photos and it’s real fun to see these pictures come alive but without the nuisance of constantly looping (it is supposed to be a picture frame). You get control of all the basic functions like frame sleep timer, slideshow display time and one function I love is that the Aura frame can place two portrait-oriented pictures together ... it’s fun to see which photos are combined at times.
Another cool option is to display a certain photo directly on the frame via App. So if I know my mom is in the vicinity of where the picture frame is, I can upload a pic and have it displayed for her to see! Surprise! I also like the fact anyone can delete a certain picture if they don’t like it ... this give a kind of Wikipedia-feel where the whole family is not only involved in uploading the photos but also partaking in the editing or choices made by others.
There are a few bugs to work out in the App but nothing that can’t be fixed by the Aura team on the fly. The picture frame has never had any issues whatsoever.
Lastly, the quality of the pictures is exactly what you hope for; no pixelation, clear, crisp and colorful photos is what you get and that’s why is was worth putting in a few more dollars! An App, when created well, is a real help but what would be the use if the pictures rendered on your frame would appear pale, undistinguishable, dark and pixelated?
The Aura frame offers great picture rendering with a good amount of control at a good price!

Fantastic gift for non-tech savy family

Our family is spread across various locations and expanding every year with new spouses and babies. The set up was super easy and they love that we can add new pictures any time. The app is user friendly and easy add/edit/delete pictures. This is a great gift to share life updates and experiences with non-social media family members.
