There's no need to install an outlet or take the camera down to charge it. This solar panel ensures that my cameras are always charged. It maintains a charge around 70% as to not ruin the camera's internal battery. Zero maintenance thus far. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a Nest Cam.

Bought the 3.5w solar panel for my Google nest camera, and I don't put too much faith in solar panels but this one I'm going to have to put 100% into. It's located in the perfect spot for maximum sunlight from noon to sundown. So far it's been up for 3 weeks and I haven't had any low battery warnings on the app. We had a huge storm pass through last weekend and I use the gutter mount, it handled the high winds and heavy rain like a pro!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
