Quality in manufacturing issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Appearance is everything. When things look like quality, they probably are quality.
This could be a really nice set of barbecue tools. Unfortunately, there are issues with the quality of the product due to manufacturing issues. I received a sealed package. When I opened it to remove the tools I noticed they all had a dirty film on them. The spatula also had fingerprints on it. These were all over the surface of the spatula. I immediately thought that it reduces the quality when a product arrives dirty. It's not that I won't wash it, but more that the manufacturer couldn't be bothered to place a clean product in the package before shipping it to me. The set has a spatula that looks like a meat cleaver. However, the sharpened edge is not sharp enough to use it as a meat cleaver. There is a knife, that also is not very sharp and a nice set of tongs. The tongs also had some sort of blue residue on them when I received them. There is also a long fork and a pair of scissors. Overall the set is functional and I like using it for grilling. But the appearance of the product when I received it cast a lot of doubt on the quality of the items and the manufacturing processes. I'm hoping they don't break after just a few uses. But, just be prepared to wash it very well, several times to remove all the manufacturing residue and DNA of the people who work in the factory prior to your first use.

The shears can open a bootie!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The minute I opened the package I was in love! This 5 piece set is more like 10 pieces. 4 of the pieces have the perfect end piece to enable you to hang it. Wait, it’s a bottle opener.
The shears can crack your seafood as well! The pointy end of the tongs allow you to pick up really small stuff. I love the groves in the knife, nothing sticks to it.
