Love the convenience of not having a gas powered engine and easy height adjustment. Works great for me as a supplement to my riding mower to get to areas not possible with it. Not sure about
Run time on battery.

Dangerous

Just bought it and halfway through the first mow the blade flew off while it was running. Luckily it didn’t hit anything, but it could have seriously hurt someone or damaged something. I put the blade back on and tightened the nut as much as I could and finished the mow without an issue though. Instructions should warn users to make sure the blade is properly secured.

Change the way you mow!

It was time to replace our old gas mower for our small grassy areas. I read many reviews before deciding to purchase a cordless electric mower last month. It is everything they say....light, quiet, easy to start, maneuverable, effective, and actually fun to use. I had some issues with the online order system and mistakenly ordered two mowers, but I received excellent help from the customer service rep with the return/refund process of the extra mower. The directions for assembly and use were a bit intuitive; I prefer a more detailed manual. However I have had no problems since then. We have used both the bag and the mulching option. It's so nice not needing gasoline or the other engine maintenance. Being "green" is easy with this Greenworks mower!

Broke on first use

I was very excited to try out an electric mower for the first time. I got the mower delivered. Actually read the instruction manual for the mower, battery and charger to ensure I wouldn't kill the battery way too early or run into any commonly caused user errors. I got halfway done mowing a VERY small front yard and the mower turns off. It will not turn back on and the battery is still reading as fully charged. I have never ordered something that broke the first time I ever used it. Very dissapointed, as I was hoping to get a full suite of greenworks products because I like the design of the products. But I would be foolish to do so when they break this easily.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not for our type of yard. Too weak.

I replaced Greenworks twin force G-Max 40V Li-ion 20" Cordless Lawn Mower with this 40V Cordless 17" Lawn mower because the blade came loose. Now comparing those two mowers, I prefer 20" twin mower because it simply works stronger and goes longer. We have a non manicured yard = wild yard, so the grasses are wild, tall and thick. 20" Twin motor uses 2 shorter blades so the force of blade revolution does not take much energy to me, hence, the battery goes longer and much less trouble. The 17" mower is slightly lighter weight which is good but the disappointment is that the battery does not last long not because of the battery issue but looks like because of the mower. 17" mower uses single blade which is longer than the one on 20" mower. As the result, when I use 17" mower on the tall thick grasses, the blade looks like getting much more resistance and I feel struggle on the machine; and the mower stops quickly. I have to restart the mower so often or I have to lift up the mower every a few seconds so that the blade gets a relief from the grasses, then recover from losing. I have to repeat this motion to mow the yard. As the result, the battery does not last long, and the job takes much longer. Once the grass is trimmed short, then the 17" mower works OK and keeps running. If somebody has a manicured yard, this 17" mower will work fine. However, for our wild yard, this is too weak to handle our grasses.

VERY QUIET

Easy to start and maneuver. No more pull cord, gas or oil. A huge plus. Runs smoothly but I wish the batteries would last longer. I currently own two 2 amp and one 4 amp rechargeable batteries and that's more than enough to do my lawn. Each battery last anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes (depending on the setting and length of the grass). I usually set it on number three because I do not like grass that's too short. It leaves about two inches of grass with this setting. The model I own is Model number 2508002 and I'm glad I bought it. I have no regrets whatsoever. It runs smoothly with no issues. I don't cut wet grass because it will tend to clog up. I just shut it off and remove the wet grass from the side and I'm ready to go again. But now I only cut dry grass. I'll never go back to gas lawn mowers.
