Keep it sharp and it will keep your lawn sharp

I have had this Mower for two mowing seasons now. In that time, i have mowed my 1/4 acre yard and my in-law's yard of a similar size. 90% of the time I use this mower on "Mulch" mode. This puts an additional strain on an introductory-level battery-operated mower that has taught me a lot about it. Here are a few thoughts:
1) MOST IMPORTANT - Keep the blade sharp. Using battery is not like gas, where the sheer force of the blade will cut even it it's as dull as a football. The name of the game with this mower is efficiency. Get yourself a file sharpener and sharpen before putting away, or before use if that's your preference. Yes, this is a little maintenance, but it's still a small price to pay because...
2) No more mess - I don't miss checking the oil, changing spark plugs, or getting gas. Based on my current electric charges, this thing costs me only about 10 cents per lawn mowing. Can't beat that with a stick. Add to that the lack or parts that need changing, and this clean machine keeps paying for itself with every mow.
3) Added power - This is my only gripe, and you can get used to it very quickly. As I said above, this unit is all about efficiency. Because of this, it has two power modes. They're not names, so let's call them "ECO" and "POWER", for clarity. The mower stays in ECO unless it senses a heavier workload, then it automatically goes to POWER, then switched back after 3-5 seconds without the workload. The problem is that you have to turn around REALLY fast if the grass is high, or you have to backup (quickly) after it drops down then picks up. This could be fixed with a button or lever that gives a manual option to switch to and from POWER mode. This would be MORE efficient, as you would have it at high speed just when you hit the high grass.
All that said, one gets used to it pretty quickly, and my lawn looks fine for the money. I highly recommend this if you can't afford to jump up to the 60V model.

I love my 19" 40V mower with two batteries. I'm a single gal and after years of almost dislocating my shoulder trying to get gas mowers started, I bought this mower. It's great! It does a great job and I have no complaints at all.

Wanted to wait several weeks before I submitted a review for this lawn mower to better evaluate its performance. This mower is a great product worthy of serious consideration. I can cut the entire yard twice before recharging the battery. My yard is approximately 3000-3500 square feet and is entirely level with a fescue blend. It cuts as designed and the grass catcher works flawlessly.

We bought our first Greenworks a couple of years ago and had a problem pretty quickly. There was only one place in our area to get it fixed, so we took it there. To our surprise a couple of weeks later, a brand new mower showed-up at our front door. Love the fact it is light, less noisy and requires no gas or oil. Now two of my neighbors have purchased similar mowers as well as leaf blowers and trimmers. Great for the environment!

I received my new mower just in time to use on certain areas of our yard. I have been using a riding mower but wanted to get more exercise so opted for this model. There are several hard-to-get-to areas in our yard and this mower fits the bill! It is very convenient to stop and start and easy to re-charge the batteries! The grass catcher bag is not really that heavy when it is full; I have just carried it to our trash trailer rather than feeling like I needed to wheel it over in a wheelbarrow! Thanks to Greenworks for this environmentally minded tool !!!

I have had my lawnmower for about 4 years now and it works just as good as the day I bought it. I never have to get gas or oil and very lightweight to push. It makes cutting grass enjoyable
