Unique design but doesn't eliminate odors as advertised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I want to preface this by saying that I've been using the bottle daily for close to a month now, so my review will be based on my experience during a relatively brief time period. I was intrigued by the UV technology that LARQ's water bottle seemed to boast about, and seeing as I dread having to clean my bottle regularly, I figured this was the perfect product to try out. When I initially started using the bottle, I noticed that it had a funny smell, which I suspected was emitted from the bottle's cap, as even with regular washing of the bottle itself, the smell remained for about a week or so. From that point on, the odor disappeared. However, I soon noticed that despite the UV technology, the bottle still developed the usual smell that you'd expect from a water bottle that hasn't been cleaned in a day or two. I found this a bit disappointing as the whole reason I was drawn to this bottle and it's unique design in the first place was because I was under the impression that it's technology would work to eliminate the odor that normally develops from an unwashed bottle. While the product did keep my water cool as advertised, it unfortunately did not meet my expectations in mitigating the funky odor that inevitably develops in a water bottle. In terms of the bottle's weight, if you've used other insulated bottles before, the LARQ bottle won't be much heavier to you. Another thing to take note of is the cap's charging time. Since it's advertised to last a month, charging it takes a couple hours. In short, it's a cool water bottle with a sleek modern design that serves as a great conversation starter, but unfortunately, didn't quite live up to my expectations.

The only reason to replace these bottles is denting from the thing falling, heat damage from horrible weather, and the stupid mini usb port becoming unusable because that is what they do. Stop using bad usb ports.
