My wife bought this for me for Christmas and I set it up in my garage with a net and mat. I can play so many course, but mainly play the local courses near me. It has been very accurate and allows me to work with club I normally don’t get out of my bag.

I’ve had this for about a month and use it often 3-4 times a week at least. It’s helped me work on my misses and given me the ability to work on my swing when I want.

Overall I’m fairly satisfied with my purchase. It allows me to play a round of golf I’m my backyard any time. That’s pretty cool. The major problem is the distance calculation. It’s about 30-40% short on all of my shots. So it is frustrating to play some of the games when I can only hit my driver 100 yards, on longer corses a nice drive will get me to the last tee box lol. I’m not a strong golfer I can usually only hit it 175 on a great day. That’s really my only complaint. All of the other readings and trajectory seem accurate. It is easy and quick to connect to my phone. I did find if I change the elevation a few thousand feet it will show the correct distances of my shots so I’ve been playing with that at the range to figure out what is accurate. Somewhere around 2000-3000 feet elevation more than my location. This still doesn’t help me if I wanted to play online because that is preset so I am at quite a disadvantage unless everyone is having the same issues. Other have said 10-15 yards but sometimes it’s even 50% short. I have 8’ of travel for the ball and 7’ behind the ball to put the r10. If the distance was accurate I’d give it a 5 star but it’s way off.

I bought this to be able to use indoors as an indoor sim more than taking to range. It works well at the range, but in my garage, I am getting very short distances. I have an impact screen that is 10 feet from hitting surface and have 8 feet from R10 to the screen. I have tried all types of things to correct. Please help as I feel I need to return this if this is the only solution. I will gladly update this review if able to get a solution to this issue as the device would be perfect otherwise. I read on the garmin forum that this seems to be an extremely common issue. Please help

I bought this just before Christmas and haven't had a chance to check it out until now. You just can't beat it for the price. One thing I was looking for was the spin direction and revolutions that isn't available in units in this price range. This unit has that and much more. I've only used it indoors, but based on what I saw there, it's a keeper.

This thing has changed my game in a short period of time. There’s something about setting up in your backyard and hitting balls and figuring out your ideal swing without distractions….the home tee hero is super fun and allows you to play your favorite local courses virtually - I play my local courses in just 30 minutes therefore I can play a few courses per day. Before having this I never practiced, just played once a week. Now I’m hitting 100 balls a day and really starting to dial in on comfortable swing that feels great. This thing makes it fun to practice and for that alone it’s well worth it!

The R10 really has potential as a cost effective launch monitor, but it has some deficiencies mostly with the software app that, for now, give it a lower rating. First, good, it’s small, light, easy to setup and fast. It tracks shots quickly and accurately (compared to stats from my SkyTrak).
Where the R10 fails is the iPhone (only!) app. First, there needs to be an iPad app to use the larger screen size. Next, the driving range functionality is limited. There are wonderful stats for each shot, but getting to those stats from the range view is a 3-click process, it’s terrible. Furthermore, only the default range features allows the iPhone screen to turn horizontally which is a must for indoor ranges with a screen projector. All other features on the app are vertical only. Even the very nice course-playing features (with LOTS of courses included) is vertical only, which limits the experience. MAKE THE SOFTWARE BETTER, FAST!
Also, while the R10 picked up every one my swings (47 years old, 4 HCI, 95 mph swing speed), it missed a lot of my daughter’s 3W and driver swings (19 years old, college golfer, 85 mph swing speed). Not sure why, but I have videos capturing the problem.
Overall, I really want to keep the R10 and sell my SkyTrak because I see the R10’s potential. It’s just not there yet. The software needs a major upgrade first. Maybe next year.
