I have used my new R10 6 times so far, and it has been great. I just started playing golf again after 20 years and it has been wonderful to be able to practice in the back yard and get great information on my swing.
I traded up from the Approach G80 and am blown away by the functionality of the R10. Range sessions are fun. The Garmin software for range sessions is not as good as a third party software called Awesome Golf. Overall, very happy with the Approach R10 purchase and will likely pay the subscription for the Awesome Golf software.
This launch monitor is awesome. Compared to my top tracer range stats, this thing is pretty accurate. Exactly what I wanted. I can learn lots about my golf game just hitting in my backyard. Love it
After setting this up at my own home and my work, I have been able to practice seamlessly from home and use the data it supplies to help fit other golfers. Compares to a true launch monitor, for a fraction of the price. Only reason it's marked at an 8/10 is because you need to put the R10 on the same level as where you're hitting it; for example my turf mat is higher than ground level, so if I don't elevate the R10 it will become inconsistent and not pick up some shots. Overall great product, would highly recommend!!
I brought this to the range to see how accurate it is against the range's yardage, and sure enough it's pretty dead on. I'm beyond impressed with its accuracy and its potential to allow me to tweak my swing as I hit the ball. Maybe a little excessive if you have easy access to a driving range, but otherwise well worth it if you can afford the steep price tag.
The real magic is in the Garmin golf app, which lets you see where your strokes land in a simulated range or course. If you use other Garmin golf devices, it's a one-stop-shop for golf metrics.
Have had it for 4weeks and set up in my garage. I am disappointed in yardage results with woods. It is showing about 20 yards shorter than my average drive. Shorter clubs results seem to be closer to actual.
