Easy to use- very good results

I seeded with Dog spot repair about 2 weeks ago and now have grass filling in those unsightly bare spots. I found the ground must be clear of mulch/thatch, aerated a bit (poked holes with screwdriver) and watered twice a day unless there was a good storm. Basically follow the directions. I am pleased with this product, but feel it could retail a bit cheaper; probably paying for the r&d
Pros: Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective
I would recommend this to a friend!

We are sorry for the disappointment you have experienced with the results of your recent seeding effort. I'd like to offer a few tips that may be helpful to you in future seeding endeavors. As with any seed product, Scotts EZ Seed Sun & Shade requires both continuous moisture and warm soil temperatures. When one of these conditions is missing, poor germination is the result.

Be sure to spread the EZ Seed Sun & Shade evenly over the prepared area. EZ Seed Sun & Shade should be sparsely applied to the depth of about 1/16" to 1/8" thick. If EZ Seed Sun & Shade has been applied too thickly, germination will be poor. Also, make sure that no weed control or weed prevention product has been used where you are seeding, as those products will also prevent or inhibit germination of the seed. When used on newly germinated lawns, herbicides will kill off the new grass. I hope these extra tips are helpful.

We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee to our consumers. At your earliest convenience please contact us to see what can be done. You may visit our contact page by clicking on the following link http://tinyurl.com/7ag7a3n

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Time will tell but it has been 5 days since I used the Scotts EZ seed where I had two tree stumps chipped out. I used plain black top soil and sprinkled the EZ seed down then raked it in the dirt and put a light cover of mowed grass over the area. 5 days and one rain storm and I have blades of grass 1 1/2 inches high already. Seems to be a real good product. I prepared 4 dog areas yesterday so I will see how they look next Friday.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions, Quality

i purchased this product about 2 weeks ago. and applied it as per the directions. and after watering it its been 1 1/2 weeks now and not even any sign of grass sprouting. this product does not work. im starting to think twice about scotts products. i also purchased their green max fetilizer and applied it as per the directions and it says will give lawn a deep green look afterb 3 days well my lawn looks the same as it did before applying their green max fertilizer. in my opinion the only thing that works is their wizz hand speader

We apologize for the inconvenience you’ve experienced when using the product. This particular product usually has a lot of success stories from users, but it is helpful when we get reviews like yours to help us produce quality product. For Cool Season grasses like Bluegrass, Ryegrass, and different types of Fescues soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees (+12.7 Celsius) for grass seed to germinate and can take between 4 -21 days to see germination. Warm season grasses like Bermudagrass, Centipede and Zoysia, which germinates in early summer, requires soil temperatures between 75 - 90 degrees (24 - 32 Celsius) and can take between 5-28 days to see visible germination. Watering also plays a defining factor in germination. We recommend watering 1-2 times a day until germination is visible and then watering 1- 1 ½” per week as needed. Both excessive watering and not enough watering can slow down or even stop germination of the product. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to give us a call at 877-220-3089 and one of our representatives would be glad to assist you. We hope this issue has not caused you to lose faith in our product, as we use reviews like yours to maintain and improve the quality product that you and other consumers have come to know and love.

I followed the directions, after 10 days of daily watering heavy I would estimate 50% of the seeds have grown, about 1.5" so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scott’s ez seed is amazing. The grass starts growing really well usually within 2 weeks and comes in really green and full. This does work well for for small areas as well as big areas. I have been using Scott’s for years and it never fails.
