Where it works it’s great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product worked excellent in some areas and not so good in other areas. Not sure why. Some areas were more shaded, possibly that was an issue. I would try the product again, in those areas. The areas where it worked were wonderful!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had sad damage next to my driveway from the plow this winner. I was worried about erosion occurring in this area so I wanted to get a seed that would germinate fast and full. And that is exactly what I found in Scott’s rapid grass. I would highly recommend Scott’s rapid grass to anyone that is putting down grass seed.

For Cool Season grasses (Bluegrass/Rye/Fescue), soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees for grass seed to germinate. Daytime temperatures should consistently be 65+ degrees. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. If temperatures have been lower than necessary for seed germination, the seed is still good and will most likely germinate once temperatures warm up.

Very little grass grew from this seed bag. I'd guess not even 5%

Nothing like advertised. Poor quality

RAPIDGrass is a poor product, especially compared to Vigoro. I put down a 15x15 foot bare are with garden soil. Spread RAPIDGRASS. I watered 2ce daily. After 7 days got weak shoots, visible non germinated seed and weeds. Yuk.

Depending on conditions and the seed type, the grass can take from 6 to 14 days to start to germinate. Germination requires air temperatures consistently above 65 degrees. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. Cold weather will delay germination but will not hurt the seed. Both excessive moisture and not enough moisture can inhibit seed germination. If a weed control is used before seeding, it will either prevent the seeds from germination outright or destroy the seedlings as they emerge.

This product didn’t work

Purchased this product last month to cover a handful of patches. Removed existing dirt, replaced it with new dirt, put seed down and then put new dirt over to prevents birds /rain washing away. I’ve watered 2x a day for 2 weeks and nothing has come up
