Better than I expected

I just wanted to reduce the radius of mulch under my trees, so i first raked out all of the old mulch, twigs, leaves,etc.... Then I watered & raked the soil where I was planting, I added some new Lawn Soil (Scotts), spread the grass seed, lightly raked it in and watered it as recommended (2X daily for the first 2 weeks). I made sure to hang onto the bag because I was sure that I was going to be requesting a full refund when it didn't work. I began to see sprouts within about 5 days, and now it has been about 2 weeks and it is almost all filled out and the grass looks great........I have used other seeds, but the rapid results of this product is amazing......For those who were disappointed, all I can say is: putting down new seed is like painting....If you take the time to do the prep clean & rake, put down some fresh lawn soil, and THEN seed & water according to instructions....I don't think you will be disappointed.....It was worth the money....

Not very good results

I purchased the Scotts rapid grass for my very small yard. What a waste of money. Nothing rapid about this grass seed. Ive been watering every other day and barely have any grass after putting down twice what they recommended. Dont waste your money on this product

Germination times on label are based upon the grass type in the bag that will germinate the quickest. For Cool Season grasses (Bluegrass/Rye/Fescue), soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees (+12.7 Celsius) for grass seed to germinate. Daytime temperatures need to consistently be 65+ degrees (18.3 Celsius) range. Cool nighttime temperatures and fluctuating temperatures will slow germination. If temperatures have been lower than necessary for seed germination, the seed is still good and will most likely germinate once temperatures warm up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like being an honest reviewer. When I recieved my Scott's Turf Builder, I was excited to try it out as I have a few spots in my yard that it seemed perfect for.
But its still the middle of winter so I put the bag on my garden shelf and will spread it as soon as we start seeing an increase in the average daily temp (around mid March). As a result I really have nothing to say about the product right now.

Won't germinate

Does not germinate! I've had this product down for nearly a month now and it won't germinate. I have been faithful in watering.

Terrible dandelion weeds

I bought two bags of this 2 months ago and sowed it in my backyard. My backyard was clear of weeds and was having black mulch before we turned the soil ready for sowing. But after sowing, in a week dandelions started to grow rapidly as if I was sowing dandelion seeds instead of grass. A few grass popped up too but now my backyard is full of dandelions and it looks terrible. I went through the ingredients in the bag it says .1% weed seeds but my bags had 90% dandelion weed seeds. I need compensation for this mishap. I used half from both bags and I still have half left in both of them. I have pictures and videos of the backyard before and after use.
