Pretty good seed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It seems like it wants to grow even when it is watered and with the proper amount of sun, but not all the way. I guess the germination of 85% is almost accurate. I would say more 75% to 80%. Wish they would make a seed that has a 98% germination rate.

Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was perfect for my small backyard that does not receive enough hours of sunlight so it has always seemed a bummer to try to decorate or have anything nice out there. Very simple to use as all I did was water it daily like you normally would. I just put it in my little Scotts spreader and it was super easy. The only chore I did beforehand was raking the yard lightly and picking up any loose branches or limbs.

No grass for me.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I regret to say that i did not have much luck with this seed. My yard doesn't get a great deal of sunlight so I was encouraged when i saw that this seed was for dense shade. I followed all the instructions but all to no avail. After 2 weeks i only got a few scattered blades of grass come up through the soil.

For this seed mix, which contains tall fescue, ryegrass, and kentucky bluegrass soil temperatures must be at least 55 degrees for Grass Seed to germinate. Daytime temperatures need to consistently be above 65 degrees for soil temperatures to become favorable for germination. All grass seed require at least 4 hours of sunlight to germinate.

Effective and Easily Spread

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm seeing some greening up in spots in our lawn that were suffering after a temperamental winter. The bag is a good size for a medium sized yard and it's fairly easy to spread. I'm still seeing weeds in our yard but they are probably slightly less intrusive than in previous years.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Dense Shade Mix is exactly what I needed for my yard. This grass seed grows with very little sunlight. Half of my yard has a lot shade. This also has seeds, soil improver and fertilizer. The grass looks great. It grew evenly and nicely. I'm happy with this Scotts Turf Builder Grass Seed Dense Shade Mix.
