Great for shady lawns

Have used this for my backyard which is very shady. It has been very difficult to grow and keep grass in this area. This seed grows well and has been the best seed I have used for this area. I have tried other brands but this has given me the best results. Just be sure to water several times a day when it is germinating. It takes several days before you will see the new grass. It is coated to help keep the seed moist for germination.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

We bought our house a year ago and the grass was awful. Most of our yard is shaded by mature trees. I reseeded part of the backyard with dense shade mix to see how it would do. I sprayed the yard, waited a week, raked out the dead weeds, and then put down seed and starter fertilizer. I put the seed down later in the fall than I would've liked but it came in. I put some winterguard down before it got really cold and then waited until spring. I've been following the Scott's feeding schedule and I've got lush green grass in that area now. My only criticism is that 7lbs is the largest size bag they sell of dense shade mix.
Pros: Quality, Effective

not much seed

I bought a 7 lb bag of tall fescue and when I opened it found mostly filler. according to package percentage there was not but about 1 lb of seed the rest was filler which I should have read about it first, and most of the planted area did not grow at all.
Cons: too much filler
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Grass came out very thin.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I followed the instructions and took care of the grass as it began to grow. It came in but the grass is very thin and it comes out the same way everywhere I planted it. Not a hardy grass easily tramples down.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, limp grass
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Product

I had some spots in my yard that needed new grass to grow and after using this I have some new grass coming up and it is making my yard look better. Also the grass seed is easy to spread and does not take long to plant wear new grass need planted. Also I got this product for free for my review and all the words are 100% mine.
