A nice quality seed and resulting turf

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Scotts Tall Fescue Mix is a great alternative to the standard bluegrass/perennial mixes that wilt at the first sign of heat. Germination does take 10+ days and you definitely need to keep a moist seedbed like any seed but I find the seedlings to be rather tough once they've reached about .5" tall. Start this seed in the fall and you will experience a nice lush lawn during spring of the following year, seeding in the spring is a waste of time, money and effort.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A good grass seed that germinated and stayed all summer, there were a few patches that needed reseeding but overall, I was satisfied with the results. I'm not 100% sure it saved any water, last summer was a decent summer for rain fall.

It Really Works

When we moved into our house we found that the previous owners had not done much with the yard. We had a chemical put on our lawn, but it didn't seem to get much better. Part of the problem is that the north and east sides of the house get a lot of shade and the west and south sides get a lot of sun. In addition, our house is at the bottom of a hill and any time there is rain, the rain runs down our side yard on the north side and washes away what we have put down. Once we got Scotts' Lawn Service, they applied their Turf Builder along with aerating the soil. The yard really improved and now we have grass all over our side yard.
Pros: Effective

The grass seed grew well in an area where it is difficult to grow grass.

No one beats Scott's grass seed

High germination rate, great seed
