Acquiring the correct shade of your toast is difficult. Sometimes I am not able to tell if the toaster is on or not because the timer is not audible.
Surfaces are really hot on the outside so you cannot place this appliance too close to other appliances on your counter.

This is the first time that I've ever had a toaster oven. It is just what we needed while we decide what to do about a new oven, and it's perfect in the summertime (so the whole kitchen doesn't get too hot.)
If you're cooking something for a long period of time, turn the pan around halfway through for more even cooking (i.e. so the items in the part of the pan near the back of the oven don't burn.) We've cooked brownies, chicken, salmon. We've made toast, and heated / cooked frozen items like hash brown patties, breaded fish, and more.
I love that there are just knobs. That is, I'm glad there's no electronic screen to worry about going haywire. Simpler is better in my book. The price was also right.
