[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been feeding all my plants except for my succulents. Now they have that extra umph as well. I had a Christmas Cactus that my cat destroyed. I had to put it outside and it was as flat as paper. I was able to give it this plant food. It took about 6 weeks but it actually survived and now has new growth. I can't wait to see what this will do for a healthy plant! I had before and after photos but unfortunately that phone died.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Good Directions

Hold tons of water!

"Fast draining formula" is false advertising. I soil doesnt drain and holds so much water that after sitting to drain for over an hour you can squeeze/pressout tons of water.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use, Problem with label

Not well draining

I am concerned with how much water this soil is retaining. My lemon trees were watered once when re-potted 2 weeks ago. The soil is still wet and the leaves have started to yellow. Also, the packaging says it in enriched with fertilizer but there no details as to the nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium content.

NOT Cactus soil

I’ve used this product for years with great results. However, the last two bags I purchased were NOT cactus soil. Miracle Grow cactus soil has always contained pebbles, pearlite and is a different consistency of standard potting soil. These two bags had none of those properties. The bags contained basic potting soil. I had to add my own rocks and pearlite. Judging by the recent reviews of this product, it would appear I’m not the only one with this issue. Very poor quality control, Miracle Grow. One mistake is understandable. Two and you’ve lost me as a customer.

It came with massive rocks

I have found 2 rocks in my soil!! So I guess I’m getting scammed off soil since the rocks were kinda massive. I’ve never found rocks before in the soil! Even when I bought cheap garden soil, never found a huge rock. I’m here wondering if it’s a joke?

Lacking grit!

I bought this soil for some succulents but when I opened the bag I was surprised to see it’s basically just potting soil with a tiny bit of sand. I ended up having to add in a lot of perlite and rocks for grit. It does not drain well enough for succulents or cacti as is out of the bag.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Recent recipe are NOT cactus soil

I use this soil religiously as it is easy to amend and use for a variety of plants… unfortunately the last few bags I bought have not been cactus soil. They come already saturated, and do not drain. I have provided photos of both the old type and the new type of soil and there are stark differences. The first two photos are the old soil, and last two photos are the new soil. The new soil contains absolutely no perlite, bark fines, or other larger pieces that provide the drainage needed. Thankfully I realized this before it killed any of my plants due to lack of drainage. I will not be purchasing more of this soil until the recipe is fixed
