SORRY JUNK

My old Scott’s broadcast spreader lasted about 12 yrs. I thought this new one would work as well, NOPE!! It acts like a drop spreader later leaving dark green streaks on your path. SORRY DESIGN!!

This spreader is a mistake to everyone who buys it

Design causes streaks from fertilizer being flung into wheels.

Please check that the rotor, gearbox or agitator is not bent or damaged. When applying, if not walking fast enough the spreader will not fling the product properly and therefore will potentially hit the wheels. All of our broadcast spreaders under went a design change at the end of 2020 that changed rotor angle and changed the agitator back to a 2-wing agitator. These changes reduces the potential for the product to hit the wheels.

Poor plastic parts.

Plastic parts are inferior quality, rotating white poly drive shaft snapped and teeth on knurled shaft wore down after only one season of use. I don’t want my money back, just send me a new set of moving parts so I can repair it myself.

Terrible spreader

Terrible spreader. Wheels hold fertilizer then dump it out where ever it wants. Handle is way to narrow too. Stops spreading fertilizer at will. I have used Scotts products for years and have never been so disappointed as I am with this product. I can't believe Scott's puts its name on this piece of junk.

Junk, cheap, plastic parts.

Cheap. Plastic parts and gears. I used mine for grass seed and pellitized lime and the agitator is completely destroyed. So now I have to shake or jerk the spreader to get it to go down in into the drop spreader. I ha e had two spreaders from Scott's do the same thing. Complete junk.

Bad wheel assembly design and quality

I have had trouble after about the 5th use with this spreader. The main problem is that the wheels only sometimes stay locked into place and fall off. A whole load of fertilizer has often fallen out of the hopper when the wheels come off without warning—just a bad, bad design on the wheel assembly.

Bad spreader

Bought this spreader last year and the plastic gear are stripped out . I will not buy another one. I was hoping to buy the parts and fix it but I couldn’t find it.
