This spreader is absolute garbage and Scott's knows it and continues to sell it. Search online for reviews about it and you will find numerous reports of just what is wrong with it. Primarily, they stupidly put the rotator at a level that is between the wheels and therefore broadcasts into the inside of the wheels. This means that the material you are spreading either bounces back off the wheels or sticks to the inside of them where it may eventually fall off. The result is a very inconsistent broadcast pattern which in the case of fertilizer in particular will be apparent by lines of darker growth showing the wheel path. It is a signature look of this DLX model and the Mini model which both have the same design flaw. It can help to lower the flow setting and making more passes but that has its own issues and doesn't truly fix the problem. Some have designed some 3d printed parts to raise the rotator, and others have cut the wheels down significantly but those also are not perfect and have their own complications. Scotts has known of this issue for many many years but continues to ignore it and sell the product. A simple design modification of raising the rotator and bucket by 2 inches would solve the issue. As they don't care to do that, do yourself a favor and buy a different brand of spreader - such as an Echo or Earthway.

Small plastic parts break within two years.

Paid far too much for this spreader. End of second year of use and the edgeguard cable broke. Then the impeller broke off from spreader wheel, making the spreader useless in the middle of fall lawn care. Shop around before you pay too much.

This product broke the second time I used it

I bought this product because of the name, and paid quite a bit more for it than the cheaper brands. I spread two bags of fertilizer, and the second time I tried to use it, the spreader mechanism broke lose from the hopper when it was only half full. It is not worth the price.
Pros: Easy to Use
Cons: not worth the cost made cheaply
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don't want to throw my money away I spent on grass seed and fertilizer by using a "test it and see" method for application. This is what I was told to do. Products refer to Speedygreen and Easigreen settings.
Why are these settings for Edgeguard a state secret?
My bar code number is 032247762328 and the spreader tool says this is invalid, though I don't know why they would need that if you knew which model you had.
Returning this for one that has more information on the spreader.
