universeal food for my veggies

A great organic fertilizer!

We have long used Miracle Grow for our gardens, both flower and vegetable. Currently I have an open jar of the all-purpose plant food, which is 24-8-16 (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content). This new organic product is also all purpose, but the breakdown is 9-2-7.
What's also different is that you shake the granules onto the ground. You don't mix it with water. Plus, you don't apply when the foliage is wet. Instructions say to reapply every 4-6 weeks. My current container says to reapply every 7-14 days. I'm not sure why the new product, with lower fertilizer numbers, would be applied less frequently than my current product, but it's more realistic to think I'd do it every month or so!
The analysis list says the product is derived from feather meal, soybean meal, nitrate of soda, bone meal, sunflower hull ash, rock phosphate and sulfate of potash. I don't know whether that's different than my current product, or whether it's just another way of talking about the same ingredients. My current product is derived from ammonium sulfate, potassium phosphate, potassium chloride, urea, urea phosphate, boric acid, copper sulfate, iron EDTA, manganese EDTA, sodium molybdate and zinc sulfate. If you can decipher, good for you!
As a side note, the container says it's made from 25% recycled plastic. I'm becoming more and more concerned about the amount of plastic in this world, so this is a welcome notice.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so easy to use. Just sprinkle the granules where you want them. I have also put them in my garden hose sprayer bottle. Very easy to apply. They work well. There has definitely been better growth and everything is so much greener.
