How disappointing that Miracle-Gro switched from liquid houseplant food to a foam formula. The new product is not easy to use nor as effective. The liquid product I have easily used for years, with wonderful results. Please bring back the liquid version!! In the meantime, I have been forced to use a competitor's product.
Cons: Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The foam is useless and appears to be a way to get consumers to use more product up faster. The drops were so easy to use and lasted forever. I'm so upset! The drops were such a great value and product. Bring back the drops, please. I will not use this foam and I will no longer consider Miracle Gro products because of this.
Cons: not drops!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your comments. We now have the liquid version in the pump form. It can be used like the dropper product was used, mixing with water.

It makes it difficult to water plants not on a table.

With 20 or so plants to water, some of which are on ledges, the original liquid plant food was great. Mix it in the waterer and off you go. This new foam doesn't readily dissolve in the waterer so I have to juggle both the foam dispenser and the waterer up a ladder or make two trips to be safe. Please, bring back the liquid or make it available as an option. At this point I'm considering pulling off the foam dispenser top and using an eye dropper to measure out the solution.
Cons: Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good product, Bad pump bottle!!

Dumbest pump top I have ever encountered. No instructions on the bottle on how to open the bottle to pump the contents out. Once you figure out you have to flip open the little door on the tip of the spout there is pressure in the pump and opening it causes contents to spill out all over everything.
Cons: Difficult to use, Messy

Hate the foam...really hate it.

Bring back the drops please. When watering a large number of plants, it was far easier to add the drops to the large container of water than it is to deal with this hit and miss dosing with the foam. Very difficult to get foam to disappear from soil without overwatering. To the developers/marketing department: "Sometimes, just because you can do something clever, it doesn't mean you should."
Cons: Messy, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not An Acceptable Replacement-Bring Back The Drops

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was sad to find out that the drops have been discontinued. This is not an acceptable replacement. My family has been using Miracle-Gro for over 20 years. We have some plants that have been in the family for three generations. I'm hoping some of them make it to four. The foam product is messy. It is not easy-to-use as the front of the bottle states. It is especially hard to use on full plants and ferns. The foam has to be washed/diluted from the leaves into the soil. Initially this caused some overwatering issues. Now I just pump the foam into the middle of the plant/leaves and water as I normally would have. This leaves some of the foam not "diluted". Neither one seems like a good option. The drops were easy to use. I knew exactly how many drops to use in my watering container and felt confident that my plants were getting what they needed. I'm not sure now. I will also add that the foam is not a great value. A bottle of drops used to last me almost a year. I will be lucky if the pump lasts for one month. It is almost gone after three weeks of use. That means at least 11 more bottles to throw away a year. #For those of you thinking of waste and the environment.# How long will it take to get the drops back into production?
Cons: Messy, Difficult to use, horrible value

Truly an awful product. I know you can't please everyone so why not have both foam and the regular product? Foam is messy, inconvenient and you don't get nearly as much as you do with the liquid. Will be searching for another product. Certainly will never purchase this foam again.
