Please bring back the liquid form!

I have not even bought this product because, as other reviewers have stated, it would be a nuisance to use. I have used liquid Miracle-Gro for over 30 years, both for my extensive collection of indoor plants and, during the warmer months, for my many outdoor hanging baskets and potted annuals.
Because I use so much, I always buy multiple bottles, and always lay in a large stock for winter, because the garden center from which I buy closes from Christmas Day through March.
The liquid Miracle-Gro is a superior product. In fact, it is perfect. Why mess with a good thing? Please produce it again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Please bring back your old liquid houseplant food. I agree with the majority of reviews -- the new foam is TERRIBLE. I have plants of varying sizes (from small windowsill plants to 4 and 5 foot tall floor plants) and when I used the old liquid diluted 10 to 12 drops in a quart of water I knew all of my plants were getting the appropriate amount of food regardless of their size. I used it every time I watered and my plants flourished! Not only is the foam messy (I cannot reach the soil of some of my fuller plants) there is no way to tell how much foam each plant needs.
Cons: Messy, Difficult to use, no way to tell how much food each plant is getting
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am known as the 'plant whisperer'! I maintain over 50 plants in my classroom - most are rescues or gifts. I have 3 plants that were cuttings taken from plants that are well over 80 years old. All the members of my plant family go home with me for the summer and return year after year to my classroom. I give everything a chance! I water everything with a monthly boost of MiracleGro. As my pictures will show, all my plants are thriving. I see over 420 students in a week and they enjoy the 'jungle-like' area my plants provide. Many plants bloom through the winter - this helps with the long Western New York Winters. Thank you MiracleGro and thank you for considering me.
Pros: Value, Quality, Easy to Use, Good Directions, Effective

Not a fan

I've used Miracle-Gro Liquid Houseplant Food in the 8oz green bottle for numerous years. I have been unable to find it in any store including Lowe's, Home Depot, K Mart & Target. I've been told that it has been replaced by this foam which I do not care for. It doesn't dissolve well in the soil & is difficult to dispense when you are getting near the bottom. I'm also unsure of how much to use for different size pots which wasn't a problem with the liquid. The foam will not be lasting near as long as the liquid which makes it more expensive. Why has the foam replaced the liquid or if it hasn't where can I still buy the liquid? I also use the 8oz liquid in the purple bottle for my african violets & I've been told the foam will be replacing that also.
Cons: Messy, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

NOT A GOOD MOVE!

if it ain't broke, don't fix it! This change makes the whole plant care process too labor intensive & takes all the joy out of household plant care. The foam doesn't dissolve uniformly. One must take care not to get the foam on any leaves, which creates more work should clean-up be needed. Foam tends to drip after spraying, so one must be careful where the bottle is set down to avoid a mishap ( such as a wooden furniture item ). Those of us who have high plant shelves must now deal with too many items to take up the ladder, risking an accident. BRING BACK THE OLD STYLE !
Cons: Messy, Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What a horrible design. I paid more for a pump because I thought it would be easier to use. Wrong! The top goes up but never goes down no matter how hard I twist, turn, pull, press, smash, just doesnt work. Somebody needs to get fired for this design. As for me, I will never buy it again. Piece of crap that doesnt work.
Cons: Didn't work as expected
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Messy. Not a good replacement for the good ole drops.

I've been a fan of Miracle Grow for years, for both inside and out. The foam plant food is awful. It lays on top of the pot. To get rid of it—and to keep it off the leaves--you have to drown the plant. I'm not sure how much to use with my 18" and larger pots so I'm either overfeeding or underfeeding. This product is NOT an improvement over the drops. They were easy to use, neat and quick. The foam is not.
Cons: Messy, Didn't work as expected, Difficult to use
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

MrsB, we are sorry to hear about your disappointment in the Miracle Gro Indoor Plant Food. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and your comments have been forwarded to our Marketing Teams for review.
The foam must be applied directly to the soil around the pot. Plants in pots smaller than 6 inches should get 2 pumps once a week. Plants over 6" should get up to 5 pumps once a week. It's important to water immediately after the application to move the plant foot through the soil to the roots of plants and wash the foam off of the plant leaves. Feeding weekly will ensure that your plants are getting the nutrients that they need to remain strong and healthy.

Just saw it in the store
on June 8, 2014

I am very disappointed that the liquid indoor plant food is no longer available. I saw this new funky dispenser in the store and realized I can't use it for my plants. I water hard to reach plants. I can't reach them to pump foam in the pots. If I pump this stuff into the middle of my asparagus fern, the plant will scratch me and I'll get little thorny spurs in my skin.
I've used Miracle plant food for 15 years now. I guess I won't be using it anymore.
Hopefully Scotts Miracle Grow will realize their mistake and bring back the old product.
Cons: it is a foam
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
