DEAD after 15 months. RIGHT OUTSIDE WARRANTY

The fridge this Refrigerator replaced was 25 years old and originally a cheap floor model. I was so happy, originally to have a nice new fridge and get some security here in the pandemic. Imagine my horror when the fan and compressor on this one died right outside the warranty! Taking my precious food and even my Birthday Cake and Ice Cream with it and Ruining my birthday. I have a upright Frigidaire freezer I bought as a companion and am now worried sick it will die soon as it's 1 year warranty is about to expire leaving my food supply in danger. I really did NOT need this with everything else going on AVOID. I wish I had.

stopped working in years 1 AND 2

Fortunately, this was still under warranty when the compressor went out and it stopped cooling itself about eight months after we bought it. Unfortunately, it was not still under warranty when it stopped cooling itself a second time, about eight months later.

Poorly Designed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 18.3 cu. ft. refrigerator about a month ago and it seems the refrigerator cooling system is operating as well can be expected in this time frame, however, the auto close doors are poorly designed as well as the ice maker basket! When closing the bottom door, there was a loud click. The freezer door stopped 3 or 4 inches from the base and it had to pushed again to close. So I had the deliver men back out. They took the doors off and tightened the lone screw in the bottom auto close mechanism which stopped the click. They could do nothing about the freezer door problem. Of course, in a couple of days, the loud click came back when the lone screw became loose again. So then, I had a repair man come out and he ordered a new mechanism. This didn’t resolve the loud click. The only way to solve it, leave that useless auto close mechanism off ! The freezer door still stops 3 to 4 inches from the base and I must make certain it is closed. I purchased an ice maker with the unit. The basket is so deep, it forces the shelf that it rest on around 12 inches from the top which makes a large expansion for frozen items. Fortunately I had an old wire shelf I made to fit between this large expansion. I would suggest your designers and engineers operate their design to see how it works before sending it out to the consumer.

Stopped cooling twice in first month

Stopped cooling twice in the first month of purchase. Got it repaired, same issue happened again. I've been told to replace the part takes up to 4 weeks, so now I have no working fridge for a month.

Failed compressor

Within one year of purchasing the compressor has failed and technicians do not have equipment to fix. We are at one week without fridge and do not know how this is going to be resolved. No one will call us regarding the situation

6 weeks dead!

Our new refrigerator died in only 7 months.
Communicating with Frigidaire and posting this review have been nearly impossible.
This is most unsatisfactory. We had thought Frigidaire was a reliable brand. A new refrigerator should not have died in seven months. We have been without a refrigerator for six weeks now, right through the holiday season, and with no end in sight. We are very, very unhappy.

Built to Last - Just Beyond Warranty

Purchased this unit to replace a 43-year old refrigerator which never required maintenance over a 43 year period. The unit I replaced it with (Model FFHT1835VW) was purchased May 8, 2021 and stopped cooling in August of 2022, approximately 3 months beyond the warranty! Nice timiming. My advice to prospective buyers: Purchase the Service Plan, or better yet, purchase another make.

Junk. New refrigerator only lasted 2 years.

So frustrated by this. Just shows the high confidence in their own products to offer a whopping 1 year manufacturers warranty. These new products are just junk. The fridge began making terrible noises and stopped working at the 2 yr mark. These products are not purchased to be replaced every couple of years.
