Work Great! Nice Quiet Blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a bit worried about this product because the box arrived in damaged condition. My husband thought that the product was probably used before and refurbished because of the quality control sticker on the bottom. I wasn’t so sure though. It looks brand new to me.
I was very impressed with the weight of the glass mixing hub/cup. It was much heavier than previous blenders I have purchased, which reassured me that when turned on, the mixing cup wasn’t going to flop all over the place. Second, I really love the measurements. I make smoothies a lot, especially for my daughter, which call for 12 oz of fluid against how much fruit/veggies I add. I always have to guess where the 12oz notch would be for other blenders. With this one, there was a notch indicating 12 oz if my math is correct, so I’m happy.
The assembly was very easy but I made sure to clean the jar and lid before use. I did notice that there was a power button which was new to me. So, I had a bit of a learning curve when I tried hitting one of the function buttons. I thought something was wrong when the blender did not turn on. I have to get used to the power button.
I was thoroughly impressed with the blender. I love that the blending choices and speeds were varying and were not all the same options like most blenders. My last blender sounded like a jet engine and each function was the same. You could switch to a different function but it would sound exactly like the last the function with no speed variations, just one loud, constant, fast blending. With this blender, I was so happy that there were different operating speeds and though the blender makes a noise, it is satisfyingly quiet. When I put my frozen fruits into the blender it was a nice chopping sound, not the chainsaw cutting through an ice block like I’m used to.
Cleaning was very easy and I’m glad that there is a speed option for cleaning the blender. I absolutely love this thing and I will use it all the time.

Solid blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is your classic, workhorse blender. It is very easy to use. I use mine mostly for smoothies and it can be hard to find a blender that blends them properly. The Proctor Silex Blender has worked well for me. I use the smoothie button on the blender and it comes out nice and smooth. I have also used it to make gazpacho and blend soups. It worked well for both. Some other blenders that I have used have plastic blending jars. This one is glass and helps with my goal to reduce use of plastics in our home. I also like the easy clean button. I put in a little water and soap and run it right after using it, and it cleans up very quickly and easily. Blenders are loud but this one is not too loud on the scale of blenders.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good blender. It has a powerful performance when crushing ice and it blended well when making smoothies. We like the sleek and modern design. The only con is it’s a little loud but most blenders are.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Proctor Silex Blender is my new favorite small appliance. It crushes ice, it blends smoothies, it makes tomato sauce and soup, it chops veggies. The 950 watts really powers through whatever you need blended. The large glass blending jar is strong but not too heavy. The five buttons give you all you really need - Slow continuous, fast continuous, slow pulse, and fast pulse plus the power button. It comes with a three year warranty, which is one of the longest I've seen. I'm very impressed with the quality of this machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] There are so many different variety and variations to blenders. Some of them are a bit intimidating with the abundance of buttons. The one specific thing I liked about the Protor Silex Blender was how simple and basic the buttons are. Not including the power button, the four button option is really all that is needed for certain functionalities of recipes. Although it is not as healthy as physically eating your fruits and vegetables, I do like to make my fruit shakes and veggie shakes for quick convenience. I would give it a three-star if you use the blender constantly for the grind / crush ice option. I can already notice that the base seems to loosen just a little due to the vibration. I believe this is constant for a wear and tear of any product. I do wish that it was more sturdy. However, I would give it a four-star for all of the other available ways to use a blender. If you want to make it last longer I would definitely lighten the use of ice products and try the frozen fruit recipes that do not call for ice. The plastic mainframe seems concerning, when compared to your normal stainless steel. But so far I have no problems with it. The plug cord is too short for my satisfaction. It is housed inside of the base frame which is convenient. I definitely love the robust glass picture. Ideal for hot and cold items. Big enough to make a large portion. The sound is a moderate hum but quiet enough not to be annoying. I am a bit uncomfortable being that the picture does not lock. I can assume that may have something to do with the loosening screw mechanic when crushing the ice. The top does not necessarily pop down all of the way. Leaving a slight lip on the picture rim. Does not seem to cause a problem at the moment. Easy to clean and easy to use. I truly believe that it depends on the person and their lifestyle when recommending this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cleaned it up and got it going as soon as we could after its delivery. It worked great and was surprisingly quiet! Just in time for making cold summer smoothies and cocktails!
