Scratched after a week of use

I REALLY love this. Simple to use and great for veggies and rice. Everything tastes great.
I am very disappointed though, after a week of use the inner pot scratched the liner.

The best! Every single time I get perfect rice, make sure to use the cup it comes with and the rest is perfection! I already brought 2 more for family members, the size is also ideal small but mighty

Ruined by new diamond coating

The older ceramic non stick was way better. The diamond one appears to be Teflon and is absolutely garbage at being non stick. I got it for my parents because Iike my 10 year old one so much, but I will never own this one because Teflon and anything close to it is banned from this house. I know a heck of a lot of people who feel the same so if the diamond isn't related to telflon that should be advertised better. I really don't care about chipping compared to avoiding Teflon (deadly to pet birds when heated). I would buy 2 more if I could get the old ceramic coating. Oh and the new coating causes a hard bottom on the rice because it changed the thermodynamics.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stop Working After 3 Weeks

I used the rice cooker for a few weeks and stored the cooker in the original box in a kitchen cabinet. I tried to use the cooker a week later and it stopped working.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Shuts off before rice is cooked.

I bought this a year or so ago and it worked really well to cook brown and wild rice (Iusually don't make white at home), but the last couple of times I used it, it shut off in the middle of cooking. Tonight, I made sure it was seated in the heating base and turned it like it said in the book and turned it on at 5:01. I came and checked it about 12 minutes later and it was working. At 5:28, it was off and the rice was only half cooked. I turned it back on, but the rice wasn't done until after dinner. There was plenty of water left both times it did this, so not using too little water, 1 rice cup brown rice to 2-1/2 rice cups water. The valve was not plugged or blocked. This is the second time this has happened. What is wrong?

-No matter how much I rinse any kind of rice it overflows. ALWAYS. even using their cup to measure.
-undercooks brown rice
-will burn white rice if left to warm for more than 5 min.

Rice grains are coated in lots of starch more than you'd think possible for such tiny grains. When boiled in water, those starches form big, soapy, angry bubbles that steam pushes up and out of the pot. What we can suggest that may help is to put a 1 tsp of oil or a few drops. Hope it helps. This rice cooker spits and splatter all over my counter and yes, I used their cup and their directions. Actually tried 2 cup instruction and did same thing! Garbage can for me!!

Excellent rice cooker

As stated in my questions regarding this rice cooker, after I had noticed CA PROP 65 WARNING displayed for the inner pot for an Oster 6-cup rice cooker on eReplacementParts website (part# 121106002000), I was concerned about the diamond particles infused in the "DiamondForce Nonstick" coating of the inner pot—diamond being a hard form of lead. However, based on my own personal experience of using Oster DiamondForce Nonstick 6-Cup Electric Rice Cooker almost daily for a few months and "only handwashing" its inner pot, I think that it is an excellent rice cooker and that the nonstick coating on its inner pot is quite strong, and the food cooked in it tastes fine if it is used with care.
