I 've been running two Alen Breathesmart Classic air purifier units in my house for several years. I'm so impressed with the way they effectively and consistently clean the air that I recently purchased a third unit for a different room. This time I decided to go for the Alen Breathesmart 75i model. This unit is much quieter and filters more air volume. While the unit is a little more expensive, it's a wonderful air purifier and well worth every dollar.

We have had our Allen Purifier for 5 months now, running 24/7 directly behind my recliner. Usually on automatic, however I have occasionally turned the fan down when trying to nap. The changing speeds can be a little annoying. We have noticed less dust accumulation in our large open concept kitchen/family room.

Huge Difference In Allergies!
I have both the Flex & the 75i. I put the Flex away for the summer since we kept the windows open for ‘fresh’ air, but after waking a couple of mornings groggy, with headaches- I decided to go back to running the Flex 24/7 in my room. All the symptoms disappeared. I turned it off & opened the windows one night as an experiment- felt terrible in the morning. I now run it 24/7 and all is well.
Because the Flex works so well, I purchased the 75i a week ago for my open concept living & dining room. If we close off this area, the sensor will eventually turn from magenta to blue, indicating clean air. If we cook something spicy in the kitchen, the sensor turns orange or magenta, indicating ‘stuff’ in the air.

If we open the patio door, letting in air impacted by the Sequoia fires, the light will also change to orange or red, as in the picture. A day ago, during & after a rain, the sensor stayed green, even with the patio door open- which makes sense. This convinced me that the sensor works, where at first, I was a little skeptical.
I love these purifiers- they are slim & look really good with your chosen cover color.
I run them in turbo 24/7 & have gotten used to the sound- it’s not quiet, but it’s not annoying, either. It sounds like a strong wind blowing trough trees or surf- but, consistent- no rhythmic quality (which would actually be a nice feature!).
The flex sometimes needs a strong tap to turn on because the filter needs to be set in firmly to work. I move the unit around quite a bit and remove the carbon filter to vacuum it every 2nd week or so. I’ve been using the same filter since 2019! The regular maintenance really lengthens the life of the filter.
I buy the filters for dog owners. I have 2 Australian Shepherds. Once I went a month without vacuuming the filter & pulled off a mat of fur about 1/2 inch thick! Cleaned it. Vacuumed it & it worked great again.
The 75i was also the #1 pick by consumer reports this year.
I’ll be buying another soon, for another area in my home.

Loving my filtered air!

The air filter is whisper quiet, and very elegant looking in the room. When I have the windows open, it seems to be working harder to clear the pollen. The other night we had a fire and it stayed in the yellow position all night long and into the next morning until it cleared the smoky smell from the room. It also works harder when I’m cooking. I really love it, it makes me feel very safe

Sound investment clears the air

We bought a BreathSmart for my wife’s music teaching studio. It’s quiet and easy to place in the room. Plus the air is noticeably fresher. We were so pleased we bought another for our bedroom area upstairs. With the reasonably priced filter subscription service, we expect to enjoy cleaner air throughout the whole house for a long time to come.
