Better than expected

We bought the Breathesmart 75i to deal with occasional smoke while operating a woodstove in our open concept living room/dining room/kitchen. But I was shocked when the color ring air quality indicator shifted from blue (best) to purple (worst) when I heated up a tablespoon or so of olive oil to sauté onions for a recipe. Same thing happened while I was microwaving bacon. In both of these events the food was not overheated/overcooked. Until we got our Breathesmart 75i, I hadn't fully understood how bad the indoor air quality gets from simple cooking. My lungs knew though. Oily smells like these will often trigger my lungs to feel tight. We've had the air purifier a few weeks now, and I have not noticed any asthma triggers from cooking. I haven't had to open the storm door to let in fresh air, which was my go to when I felt my lungs reacting to volatilized oils.
The unit responds quickly and quietly in auto mode. Amazingly quiet; you feel compelled to use your hand to verify that the unit is actually moving airat low speeds. Also fairly quiet at the highest fan speed.
I have an extremely sensitive sense of smell, and I didn't like the sort of plastic smell from the unit during the first week or 2. But that smell is gone now. My husband never noticed that smell, so it depends on your olfactory system.
We love our Alen (air purifier nickname christened in homage to the SNL Bill Hader skit by the same name).

We just received our purifier

We just received our purifier just a couple days ago, but so far we are liking it. It is pretty quiet, but dont mind the white noise sound. We both have had sinus issues so we are hoping this will help with getting sick a lot less. We have two german shepherds, so hoping this will help with the dog smells etc. It was very easy to set up and get ready to start it up-loved that part! Your shipping box design was wonderful! Made it very easy to pull the product out! Not trying to lift a heavy object out of a tight box or having to cut the object out of the box-Kudos to you!
