Another great filter from Alen. I now own six Alen filters including this one, and they all work great and do their job. Not sure why anyone would complain about them, but I guess you can’t please everyone. Thanks Alen for taking care of my dust allergies all these years.

BreatheSmart FIT50 really works !

Excellent product . Easy to set up . Purchased 2 units for my home . Definitely makes a noticeable difference in the air we breathe. For quite a while I had been smelling exhaust fumes all over the house, this with no furnace on...no explainable reason...we couldn't understand where it might be coming from. I was diagnosed with emphysema in January, so my husband took a leap of faith and purchased this unit...and another smaller one for our bedroom. After only 1 day I noticed a considerable difference...(It's auto setting went into turbo drive when I noticed the exhaust on the first day we used it...confirming that I wasn't imagining the odor), and now there has been NO exhaust fumes in a week...Just set it on auto & let it do its thing. Definitely would recommend this Alen product .

I've been skeptical about functionality of air purifier in general, but I've changed my mind. It really purifies the air; I and my bf has significantly less allergic reaction and it does remove odor. I clean the filter once in a while using vacuum thinking it might prolongs its life.

Does the job!

After purchasing and using the Fit50 for two weeks, I ordered a second. It does a nice job of eliminating the floating particles in the air and I have noticed a big difference in the morning when the bright sun comes through the window. The air is much cleaner now and I do think it has made a difference in my sleep as I breathe easier. We do not suffer from allergies, but it is nice knowing that we are breathing cleaner air for most of the day that we are home. I like the fact that I can turn off the lights on the unit as they are bright if you are sensitive to lights in the room as I am when sleeping. You can set the unit to a setting that will produce the nice white noise that you desire when sleeping and still have the air cleaned. The lowest setting is pretty quiet like a small fan and the highest setting is like a box fan sound. The unit is very nice looking and it is great that you can choose the color you want to go with your room decor. I like that the filters are over 2 inches thick so I know the air is being treated well. I would recommend this product.

correction to satisfied customer except for the ionizer

After I thoroughly researched air cleaners and their features, I found out that some, like the Eden Pure, have an ozone generator which gives off that after-a-thunderstorm scent. However, their cleaners generate higher levels than are recommended by the FDA - 50 parts per billion. I guess high levels of ozone can be a lung irritant. For this reason air cleaners with ozone generators are banned for sale in California. BreatheSmart has an ion generator and ozone,which is activated oxygen, is a by-product of ion production. Therefore, ozone is given off in much smaller and safer amounts.
I read that Alen and Honeywell air cleaners are the best recommended for removal of dust. So if my unit does this and turns out to be energy efficient, I will be well satisfied with it. I just bought a week ago.

Having had an older unit with a HEPA filter this new unit is not only quieter it provides much more information and has reduced my wife’s sleeping problems tremendously. The design and functionality are excellent. I have recommended it to several friends and will continue to do so.

Having purchased a high quality room air purifier in the past, I was confident that a HEPA based system from a respected manufacturer would positively impact on the indoor air quality in our home. A lifelong allergy sufferer, I am hypersensitive to keeping up with clean pillow cases and creating a low dust environment - but those efforts yield minimal benefits.
No matter what we try, every night we hear our eight-year-old daughter over the baby monitor struggling mightily with the allergy laden air of South Texas… snorting, snoring, tossing and turning.
After only a few nights with the BreathSmart Fit 50 we have seen a dramatic reduction in sleep time allergy symptoms from our daughter. The downstream affect of sleeping more soundly will SURELY have a positive impact on her days as well. I was nervous about introducing ambient light and noise into my daughter’s sleep environment. After testing in our bedroom, we realized that the Fit 50 purrs like a kitten and the lights turn off completely if you choose.
Lastly, the product is well engineered and intuitive. Top tier fit and finish. Kudos to the designers.

I tried a Fit50 for the main level of my house and noticed an immediate improvement in air quality, It does such a good job that I purchased a second Fit50 for my upstairs.
