Great Oven, Racks need to go back to basics.

This is the second house I have installed a GE single double wall oven. I like the styling and overall use of the oven. It works well in the 2 years that I have been using it. I am able to put anything want into the oven to cook and it’s nice not having to heat a massive oven all the time.
What we really, really don’t like is that GE changed the oven racks. They went from a standard flat wire rack to a sliding contraption. These are a HUGE miss by the design team at GE. The racks sit an inch higher than the level of the support. In the 2014 version of the oven, this meant you could really use 2 racks in the lower oven. Now if I have something oversized, I need to take this massive rack assembly out and find someplace to store it while cooking.
Also, the sliding mechanism more or less seized up within a year. I have been looking to buy a standard rack to replace these really expense sliding racks but for some reason GE doesn’t make a standard rack that fits in the oven.
Overall, I really like the oven and the holiday themed alarms (think gobble mode at thanksgiving) are nice touches but don’t overcome the new rack system that is required to use the oven.

Two in one!

It’s so nice to have 2 ovens to cook with at the same time. Each oven has plenty of space. The pull out racks are very nice and lighting is excellent. Really like having the ability to control the oven on your phone. The only thing we noticed that could be better is that the ovens are slower than expected to warm up and reach the set point.

We placed the oven in an old 30 inch floor cabinet. It fit perfectly. The control screen is a little low, but I use the Alexa app/voice command to control the oven. I can preheat the oven on the way home from work so it is ready to go. My Apple watch even tells me when the oven is preheated and when the oven timer is over. Running the upper and lower oven at the some time does cause the fan to blow at full speed and heats up the house, but it is great to have two ovens in the space of a single oven.

10yr Owner of Single/Double wall oven with 4 boys

We bought the single/double wall oven when we remodeled our kitchen 10yrs ago. I thought my wife was being extravagant because we bought the single/double, the advantium and a normal 30" wall oven. To her credit she was 100% spot on for doing so.
We use the single/double 99% of the time. The smaller "compartment/oven" is perfect for baking cookies, brownies, frozen pizzas, chicken nuggets and everything else. Being a parent of 4 boys - all the food the kids want to eat uses the smaller upper space. For everyday dinners the lower space is perfect size for roasts, ham, etc. I can't say with any certainty but I would think we are saving some money by heating say an 18" oven space vs a 30". For the holiday's it is a great luxury to be able to cook a 23lb turkey in the 30" and all the sides in the single/double. It makes cooking for family and friends easier, less time coordinating what gets placed into the oven when, and allows my wife and I to spend more time with our family and friends.
And everyone who visits our home falls in love with the idea and adds it to their remodel wish list. If you are trying to decide between double wall oven or this - choose this. You will not go wrong. Again, for us based upon our family, what is being cooked on a regular basis, chosing the single/double with another 30" and a separate microwave was the perfect decision.
No quality issues and right amount of features. And I'm speaking as a 10yr owner.

My only knock - because the oven spaces are smaller, its a bit of a hassle to clean up the ash after a self-clean. Not impossible. Just take a bit more time.

Great GE double oven!

I have always had two full-sized double ovens, so I was a little concerned about going down to these smaller ovens. I have been very happy with how evenly they bake things. Even the smaller oven does a very nice job!

Beautiful and functional oven

Although I've only been using it for a couple of weeks, I'm loving this oven. The drawers slide like butter, and the touchpad controls are easy to use. It's lovely to look at, and I like that for most things, I only have to heat up the upper oven, as it's just the two of us. I was not successful getting the oven to connect over the cloud, though I could get it on my home wi-fi, so not sure what is up with that, but it works just fine without using "smart" features.

Love this oven!

My husband removed our old oven and installed this model, no problems and we did not loose any cabinet space! It does take longer to preheat than the old oven and, in the top oven, the element is very close to the rack, be careful of burns! Also, I have not quite mastered adjusting the racks to different levels, but I am working on it - haha! I LOVE the touchscreen programming, having TWO ovens and the time-bake settings! It's just the two of us at home now so we mostly use the top oven which I feel is much more energy-efficient than our old oven was. I recently hosted a bridal shower and having two ovens was a game-changer! I don't know how I survived before with just ONE oven!!
