not what they used to be

I bought these tweezers 20 or 30 years ago. They were superb. The pair I just bought is almost as good as Revlon tweezers which cost about 1/3 as much.The entire jaw surface area is suppose to meet. Not just the edge of the surfaces, the entire surface area - like a high quality pair of pliers. These don’t do that; they only meet at one edge. The toenail clippers are good. They have an effective non-slip grip which also serves as a catch bin. Most, not all, of the nails automatically fall into this bin. The flaw is in the design - the jaws don’t open wide enough to EASILY get around toenails. (You can fit them in, but it’s sometimes a struggle). Because of this, the toenail clippers work better on fingernails since fingernails are thinner than toenails. If you read reviews that say Tweezerman tweezers are no longer precision tools, believe it.
