Short lifespan, but necessary alternative to bags

I really wanted a more sustainable alternative to the bag system, which generates a lot of waste. The containers worked well initially (once I figured out how to use them without spilling), but they stopped working within 3 weeks - very disappointing! I think it may have to do with the air valve, because it's in a spot that's very hard to reach within the container and there is no brush for it. It would help to have a brush designed to clean the valve between sessions.
