It does the job!

This pump is wonderful, as long as you get properly sized and read/watch the instructions! I love my pump; I would never consider going back to a traditional pump. It’s worth the cost! For people seeing negative reviews, watch the tutorials, join the willow Facebook group, and you will be fine! I work at a hospital, and it’s the best. I can keep working without missing a beat.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It’s ok

I hadn’t heard of nor thought about buying the willow until a friend of mine told me about hers. The “wearable” aspect intrigued me. It didn’t really work for her but I’m not entirely sure what that means. If I hadn’t found a good deal on one, I would not be making this review as the price point is ridiculous. Anyway, I love that I can connect it to my phone to see my output and keep time (I often forget what time I started). The pumping is very intense without being painful and although I appreciate that, it makes it so I can only handle doing one breast at a time-this not really benefiting me time wise. One thing I hate is when using the reusable containers (vs the bags), if you are not careful or aware you WILL spill/lose some of that precious liquid gold. The first time I used them was a disaster as I was trying to salvage that which was in the flange and the flip to finish was delayed-I should have been standing over a bowl. (Mind you, I had read the instructions several times and watched a few YouTube videos.) I now empty over a bowl religiously but those first few times I cried…a lot…over spilled milk. I also hate that the bags are hard to come by these days (the price point on those is also ridiculous). If I could use regular milk storage bags, I would. That would be amazing. It’s like the design was purposely over complicated to ensure this did not happen, but I’m no engineer so I digress. It is a very unique system and it works pretty well. I also use a couple other pumps to make up for where this one lacks (when I need to pump but don’t want such an intense suction; when waiting for them to charge (if intended to be used at the same time, why would you only provide one charger? Or not a Y type charger?); middle of the night when I’m not with it entirely and it’s too much hassle and im preventing spills). Overall I like it, not enough to pay regular price for it or the bags, but it’s cool. I wouldn’t call it a necessity but I’d recommend it to my well off friends with money to blow-no one else.

Top Leaks
on April 8, 2022

love the WILLOW GO it emptys me faster than Elvie stride and is cordless. I purchased so I can use at work (ER nurse) but the top leaks.. i understand it isnt leak proof but why is it called "GO" if you cant go anywhere. Bending over I get but literally driving it was leaking to my bra. sadly i probably wont be able to wear it at work , maybe while charting but thats it. Definitely should design a plug like the Elvie has up top their cup. The suctioning is amazing..design is amazing and low sound but the top was poorly designed.

Love the freedom!

Love the fact that I can do most anything while I'm pumping. Hate that sometimes my let down won't happen so it takes me like an hour to get a good supply out, but I know that's a me problem vs the pump so all in all the pump is pretty amazing. I would love it if it came with a bag to put everything in though. I have nothing to put all my pump stuff in when I travel so I end up using zip lock bags. Would be nice to have a bag made by willow for willow (like the willow bra).

Honest review!

I want to give this 5 stars, but there are definitely some cons that go along with the pros. The biggest pro is the mobility. I have actually worked in a room full of people and no one knew I was pumping. It’s very quiet and can look natural when I wear a jacket or cardigan. Be warned though, you can hear it if no one is talking.
The con is the learning curve. I usually do not have issues with learning new things. It took me a good week to really understand how to work the pumps. The flip to finish part was the hardest. I got milk everywhere the first few times.
I also think it’s important to know that you have full mobility with the bags (which are always out of stock). I can bend over and never miss a beat. However, you cannot bend over with the reusable. It will leak out of the top. It’s also good to know that the app has issues. It told me my bag was full (5 oz) and it only had 1 oz.
Would I buy again? Yes! It has made it possible for me to pump at work and to up my supply to keep up with my baby! It’s very easy to mimic cluster feeding and pump all day!

I enjoy it

I actually enjoy using my willow 3.0 and the hands free option. I now have the flexibility to feed my baby and pump without having to worry about wires. The only thing I do not like about it is how long it stays in simulation mode. But other than that it’s a great pump especially for working moms.

Freedom to Roam

I’m so grateful for the Willow’s technology, sleek design, and high quality pumping cycles. It took me practice to understand my comfortable suction level to get the most milk, but once I figured it out, it was so comfortable and led to pumps that were nearly as productive as the medical grade pump I rented. Stick with it! Practice is key.
It has become my favorite pump, particularly for not having to excuse myself from company and the convenience of being able to move freely and bend all the way over to pick up my baby or do chores.
Many times I wore it out for the day with friends and they always marveled at how they had no idea I had anything on because it is so sleek and quiet. Being able to just remove the self sealing plastic bag and continue with my day has been incredibly convenient.
Willow came out with the app update to adjust the suction from your phone after I had been using the Willow for several weeks, and it was a game changer! Now you don’t have to try to discreetly reach inside your shirt to adjust the pump - just do it from your phone and no one is the wiser.
I’m so grateful I got the Willow. My big suggestion is just keep practicing with the levels until your body figures out what feels best for you.

Overall, Positive Experience

Pro’s:
Wearability is fantastic and extremely easy to pump on the go, especially with the bags.
Customer service has been amazing when I have had issues.
Effective breast emptying for me. And when this pump is working as expected, it’s truly awesome.
Cons/Suggestions:
Reusable containers are extremely finicky. It can be infuriating at 2AM when all you want to do is pump and go back to sleep. Customer service was phenomenal and replaced a number of parts for me but the stress of it all was still a con. It seems to me the valves were originally designed for the bags as 1x use, and using those valves on the containers over and over again are hard to clean well and results in errors, glitches etc.
The pumps are a little louder than I’d like but not terrible.
Flip to finish is dicey. I’ve lost some milk due to a few mishaps with this process and when I was making just enough milk, this was not fun. However it does work most of the time and i only do flip to finish now if I need to (on the go). If I’m home, I simply squeeze and manually empty the contents of the flange and the flex tube into a container instead.
No Willow carrying case. Strongly suggest some portable carrying bag or case for a pump intended to be on the go!
While I have suggestions, overall this technology is awesome and really has made pumping far more doable and convenient for me in general. Being able to do almost anything while pumping (especially enjoyed pumping while driving, felt like the best multi task) has been amazing. Knowing what I know now, I’d still choose this over a more traditional pump ( I used a medela with baby #1).
