Super convenient and does a really good job emptying completely. Having some issues with milk containers leaking all of a sudden when flipping them over. Overall, I would recommend.

A great investment in our family

I am thrilled with my Willow. My husband got it for me after using the insurance-covered Medea for our first born and the covered Spectra 2 for our second born. The Medela made a noise that made us both insane. The Spectra was infinitely better than the Medela, but since I was exclusively pumping with both children, I was tied to a wall, sitting up and leaning forward, for upwards of four hours a day for two years with my firstborn, and a year with the second.
With the third, I am able to exclusively breastfeed, so I use the Willow to manage my supply. I pump 4-6 times a day (once during the night) after nursing the baby, or to take the edge off if she sleeps through a feeding, and get 20+ ounces a day to freeze. Our daughter is two weeks old today, and well fed. I use both the containers and the bags depending on the circumstances. I can sleep with the pumps on, and they don’t wake my husband like the other two pumps. I’ve used them in the car and moving around and they work great. Despite being well-endowed, I do not find the addition of the pumps to be crazy looking, and they are impossible to hear unless you’re in a silent room. I discovered last night that if you lie on your back, sitting up just a bit, at maybe a 30 degree angle, you can not only use the containers without leaking, but you can also get upwards of six ounces in a container.
There IS a learning curve with this pump, and it can feel a bit intimidating at first, but here’s what I did to mitigate that. I started pumping with the containers once or twice each day about two weeks before our daughter was due. It gave me a chance to familiarize myself with the parts before I was tired and sleep deprived. I found it to be a lot simpler than it appeared. Don’t forget to turn the vent from 1 to 2 when you’re done. It’s easy to forget and then you’ll spill a little and be irritated. The flip to finish is essential, and you’ll get the hang of it after a few tries. Tilt it farther than you think you need to, as it will drain the phalange pretty completely and you won’t have the spillage other reviewers complain of. Make sure you use the guide for measuring your size. If you’re between sizes, go down instead of up. Both pumps I had previously were 24mm, and pulled way too much in. The 21mm works so much better, but it goes against our natural inclination to size up. I don’t find the single charger to be a problem at all.
Drink plenty of fluids - NOT exclusively water. You need electrolytes and too much water will flush those out. Eat lots of protein and calcium.
The only thing I wish the Willow had is a protective bag for at least the assembled pumps to stick in my diaper bag.

This pump has made my life so much easier. It has literally given me the opportunity to multitask, make breakfast and eat while pumping, driving while pumping, SHOPPING and eating at restaurant while pumping. Cleaning the milk container is a little bit of a pain but I still prefer to use that over using the bags every time.

The Willow has allowed me to get back to my passion of providing clinical care in both the community and hospital setting. As a full-time Physician and new mom it is crucial that I am able to pump hands free to keep my day on track. I recommend the Willow to everyone!

With the willow, I’ve been able to pump more frequently and have increased my supply. I’ve been using the willow for over 2 weeks and have had no issues thus far with alignment, output or pain. I highly recommend this pump for busy moms!

Worth the money but you need help

I would give this 5 stars but the learning curve is tough. And the company and website are not helpful. You HAVE to join the fb group and most people have to seek out help from this specific lactation consultant who has a whole business around helping willow pumpers. The sizing is not of any other pump. You have to buy third party inserts to work. BUT once you do get the right fit, it’s amazing. It pumps better than me medela. It actually empties me! It’s easy to throw on and move about and really not leaking unless you’re doing something wrong. I love the convenience of it. I use the containers not the bags. They’re oddly shaped and wouldn’t stack efficiently in the freezer and you cannot fill past 4oz. Containers I can get way more!

Convenient with struggles

First off it is wonderful to not be plugged into a wall. The freedom this pump gives is a game changer. The app is great to see how much milk is being pumped. However, there are some downfalls. When first getting used to this pump prepare for it to break you. After a week or so and multiple breakdowns I finally got this pump to work without spilling any milk. Finding the right bra to hold it in place is key. For the price of this pump it really should come with the reusable containers. Speaking of the containers they have their own tricks. You must do the vinegar rinse regularly or your pump will malfunction. It will register that the container is full when you may only have an ounce. When using the bags you you need to be careful that milk doesn’t come out the front of the pump. With the flip it pulls the milk out of the parts but not all the way. Overall I would not have committed to pumping if I had to use the traditional pumps. So for that reason willow is great. There is definitely some room for improvement.

Enjoying using the Willow so much. I feel so much better being hands free and pumping isn’t a chore. Have been able to increase my supply with more frequent sessions. Also looking forward to using it at work (I’m a nurse) so hands free is a must
