Big Learning Curve

I think the Willow is a terrific invention and am so glad that it exists. I hate pumping and Willow definitely solves for some of the things that make pumping hard (mainly, being stuck in one uncomfortable position for a while, also, tons of time washing parts). It also CAN make pumping pretty seamless and easy when you know how to use it and it is working perfectly.
All that said, the learning curve for the Willow was huge for me. First, one of my pumps was having mechanical issues, and I couldn't figure out the problem until that was diagnosed (had to wait for a coaching appointment and then send videos and then they sent me a refurbished pump which doesn't have the same issues. I was a little put off about receiving a refurbished pump after spending top dollar for my pump set). I think if I can separate the many issues that one was causing (wouldn't flip to finish so I was constantly losing milk, starting to pump after the pump was turned off, calculating milk amounts incorrectly, etc), the main challenges I have are with alignment which impacts output. The Willow detects letdown and won't move into expression until it does. If you are off alignment, your let down might not happen or be detected, resulting in very low milk output. Alignment can be a little hard to master, even though the flanges are see through, and the issues I had with my right pump made it hard to re-align mid session.
All that said, the coaching sessions to address these issues were helpful, alignment is getting a tad easier, and I love the no leak bags so no extra steps after pumping. Also, minimal pieces of equipment make it so much easier and quicker to wash and be sure it is sterile. Love that it is dishwasher safe. Love that it is battery operated and you can take it around and pump while you live your life. Love that the battery lasts a while. Love that they came out with a reusable container (though I haven't used it yet). There are a LOT of really great features about a Willow. I just think it is worth pointing out the big learning curve so new moms can give themselves the time and grace they need to figure that out. (Usually, when a mom starts pumping, there is a LOT more going on in their life and to add the challenge of re-learning how to pump can be a little difficult).
I'd recommend the Willow and would also recommend practicing a lot (even before baby comes!) to get the hang of it. Also, patience, and reaching out to customer support if you have any issues big or small, as soon as possible.

Love it!!!

Willow is amazing and has taken the stress out of pumping. I am exclusively pumping so I have to pump every 2-3 hours. I hated feeling like I was tied down to a power cord and tubes. I was stressed out and ready to give up. Now that I am using Willow, I won't go back to a regular pump. It works great and is so easy to use. I'm loving the freedom to move around and drive without worrying about all the elements of a normal pump that just gets in the way. I think it is so worth the money spent.

Empowers the modern day Mom

I purchased Willow when my son was 6 weeks old. I was doing a lot of pumping, and I was not able to care for my son or myself, because I was tied to my breast pump most of the day. This caused me to have a significant amount of guilt, anxiety and overall sadness. I felt like I had lost my freedom and sense of self. I purchased a Willow in the hopes of finding myself again. Willow saved me! I was able to live my life (do chores, care for the baby, be out with my friends, etc.). It was so empowering. It gave me a sense of normalcy during a time where nothing seemed normal anymore. I am back at work now and using Willow at work. I have tried it out a few meetings and it is great. You can only hear it when it is super quiet. I just want to the the Willow team for their commitment to modern day Moms :).

The bags are expensive, but the pump is amazing!

I absolutely love the pump, it works well and is truly hands free. I think it is a really great option, but as someone who is exclusively pumping, the price you pay for the bags definitely adds up!

I absolutely love my Willow, I just wish the bags weren’t so expensive. I also wish that the system came with two chargers so that I can charge both pumps at the same time. Altogether though this pump is amazing and makes pumping at work so easy!

Great pump but not my every day go to.

I was really, really excited when my Willow came in the mail. No more loud pump with cords and tubes and no more bottles and pump accessories to wash everyday after work. Only 4 things to wash, what a dream. I used Willow at work as soon as I got the hang of it but quickly realized I wouldn’t be able to keep using it there. I don’t work in an office with my own space and unlimited time to pump, I try to be done with my whole routine in 20 minutes because things can get pretty backed up in my line of work when someone is gone. I wish the pump would allow you to change to expression mode, rather than waiting on it to change when it thinks you are ready. If it had this feature I could use it daily, but sometimes it takes a good while to go into expression mode. Anyway, that’s the only issue I have with the pump. I do love it and do use it when not at work! And I would recommend this product if you do have a space you can pump for an unlimited amount of time.

Working mother lifesaver

With Willow I've been able to pump hands-free, not tied to a wall outlet or with tubes coming out of me. I am able to get things done not only for work but around the house. I have pumped at events with a jacket over. I have been able to see year and examine some patience while pumping as well.

I love that I can pump at work and have my hands free!! It does take quite a bit longer to pump than the traditional breast pump, and you need to bring a storage bottle to collect the excess milk. Tipping the pump after you’re done to have it suck all of the milk up doesn’t quite do the trick. I don’t walk around work while pumping, if I did I would look like Dolly Parton but I love not having to think about it and sit in a relaxed position.
