The World's Greatest and Most Convenient Breast Pump

I have had many different pumps throughout nursing my five kids, but they all pale in comparison to Willow. There was a slight learning curve initially, but that was pretty dramatically helped by all of the excellent videos that allow you to learn and troubleshoot when necessary. I love that Willow allows me to pump discretely while in the car or at home, or really anywhere. I don't have to worry about spilled milk thanks to the unique bags, or wrestle with a huge pump to lug around. Battery life on the Willow is excellent, even with only sporadic charging. If you are on the fence, just know - Willow is worth it!

Exclusive pumping made manageable

My daughter was a NICU baby and unfortunately never latched. When she came home with me, it would be impossible to pump often enough and care for her. Enter Willow. I could pump every 3 hours and still hold my baby and change her diaper. Then when I went back to work I could keep working whilst pumping. Thanks to willow we made it 6months!

This is about the original Willow:
Good: pumping on the go
The app helps me know how much I’m pumping
The support staff is great
Only 2 parts to wash per side
The pumps can be used a few times before needing to be charged
Bad:
Took me a while to get the hang of it
The bags are expensive
I don’t think it is as efficient as my other standard pump
You can’t switch from stimulation to expression manually
Good: pumping on the go

I really wanted to love this product

When I first ordered the Willow 2.0, I was so excited. I have a very active two year old, and was looking forward to pumping on the go so I could care for her and our newborn at the same time. When my set arrived, I eagerly tried them out. They are a little difficult/not incredibly intuitive to set up, but with a little finagling, I figured it out. I’m used to getting at least 3-4 oz in a 20 minute session, but when I checked the app at the end, I had barely managed to pump 1 oz! Recognizing the motor has to be smaller and less powerful to be portable, I was willing to just pump more often. The expression phase is hard to achieve sometimes, even following the directions of leaning back and relaxing (something not easy to do with two children) but I was still willing to give it a good try. But then the real problems started: after a few uses, the cap of one of the flex tubes popped out. Since then, that tube has often produced far less in a session. Additionally, the app is very inaccurate when it gives production readings. Routinely, I’ll get to 2-3 oz in the app, but when I stop the session, I will have 1 or even less. This is a major problem with the product, as I base when to start and stop sessions that I’m fitting in between breastfeeding on amount produced. A day ago, the app told me I had pumped half an ounce, but I had to stop abruptly as the newborn had woken up. When I opened the pump, there was literally nothing in the bag. But today was the last straw. I pumped 2 oz and stopped my session. As I pulled the bag out, the seal at the top of the bag, the part that is inserted into the flextube, opened and poured out half an ounce!! These seals are supposed to keep your milk in the bag (obviously) but they are also intended to make for airtight, one-way sterile storage. That the bag failed worries me about my little stash we keep for emergencies and the rare date night.
While the product is ostensibly great (and has the price tag to match) there are a lot of areas with room for improvement. I would love to revisit this product in a year, maybe when a new model comes out (though by then we won’t need a pump.) First excited, but now, sorry to say, pretty disappointed.

I love my willow! I love how convenient and hands free it is. I love that I can use it in public and most people don't even know. The down fall to it is that I still have some pinching when I pump. Other than that I love it and couldn't be happier. It also is easy to use.

Love it but needs some improvement

I love the freedom that this pump gives you, you really can pump anywhere. My biggest complaint is the connectivity with the app, I frequently have problems with 1 of my pumps not syncing with the app while pumping so I have no idea how much I’ve pumped or for how long. I also wish the bags could hold more or were reusable in some way, it’s annoying when you need to pump a small amount more than the 4oz but you have to use a new bag to do so.

Game Changer!

I am a flight nurse and nurse practitioner so I don't have any extra minutes to spend pumping. After not being able to reach my breastfeeding goals with my first son I was determined to find a way to reach 12 months if possible. When I returned to work I struggled at first to use a traditional pump, due to the constant changes in schedule I was not able to pump as frequently as I wanted and I saw it reflected in my supply. At that time one of my coworkers had purchased the willow and I knew it would be amazing! I did have difficulty getting the same output and through coaching calls I was able to match output and optimize the pump. I do wish the flanges came in more sizes, that the bags were reusable and that the clear flanges were available for the 1.0. I love the willow, its worth the money. Its not a perfect device however is amazing and something that has revolutionized breast feeding. Every woman should have access to a pump like this! Hopefully in the future when they upgrade a pump they will either offer the new upgrades to old pumps or offer a large discount for a current willow user to upgrade.

Willow is everything!

I had a c-section 39 weeks and it was really challenging getting myself together enough afterwards to begin pumping and feeding my baby. My milk wasn't coming in at the hospital and we had to put our son on formula because he was losing weight. I felt like I was failing him as a mom from the start. When we got home from the hospital, my husband sanitized all the parts of my Willow and showed me how to put it together and use it(I'm married to an actual angel lol). The first time I used it, I was so excited because I had .5 ounces of milk! That was only the beginning! I'm 4 1/2 months in and pumping upwards of 12+ ounces a session and my freezer is full of willow milk bags! Hudson hasn't had a drop of formula since he was less than a week old and I couldn't be happier! The Willow has been amazing for me and my family! It's allowed us to be on the move , pump while I'm working or taking care of my baby! Thank you!!!
