Best Pump I’ve ever used
on September 24, 2020

From the moment I tried my willow pump (after downloading the app and watching every how-to video) I knew I was in love! It works faster and more efficiently than any pump I’ve ever used before. I’ve owned a traditional hospital grade pump and a “more affordable” wearable pump, neither of which was actually portable or comfortable while in use. My average pumping session with Willow is 10 minutes, and I’m averaging double the milk per session then before I had Willow. I wear it while doing chores, walking, working and watching TV all with the same level of comfort. I tell everyone I know to invest in a willow and recommend it 100%

The Willow generation 3 has been the best pump I have ever used! I love the ease and freedom this pump allows for me to have with two young children in the home. Not only has this pump helped my milk production, I am no longer tethered to a wall!! I would suggest this pump to anyone looking for something easy, sleek, and extremely portable!

Great start.... downhill

I had a great start with my Willow! For 2 days it worked perfectly, the ounces were correct and the pumping was easy! Then the right pump disconnected and not matter what I did (followed all direction on the website) it would not connect back to my phone. Then the left pump, still connected at this point to my phone, decided that I had pumped 2.4 more ounces that I had. It was a huge disappointment when I took off the pump to find only 0.5 ounces in the container! I have taken a break from the willow right now and might go back but I have been very frustrated with the performance so far.

Game changer

The Willow pump has been a game changer in terms of being hands free both at home with my toddler and baby in the morning and when I’m the office. There’s a little bit of a learning curve but it’s so worth powering through. I would have a really hard time going back to pumping with regular pump because Willow makes it so easy to multitask. I feel like I can pump in the office in front of other people without it being too awkward because it’s a smaller office, but it’s definitely noticeable when I have the pumps in. Overall, wonderful product and would definitely recommend to any working mama who’s determined to breastfeed / pump while also working.

So convenient!

The Willow is a great pump! I am using it with just bags for now and I find the app and pumps very effective for pumping and tracking sessions. I had some technical difficulties with my right pump and the customer service desk was able to assist me with resetting it and getting it syncing properly with the app right away. The person on the phone was also very kind with great customer service.
I love the stimulation settings on the Willow. I have never had it turned all the way up to have a good session.
The only reason I am giving four stars is because loading the bags into the pumps can be finicky. Even though this aspect could be better, I would still recommend this pump to anyone!

Game Changer

I had my first baby in May. I was blessed to have 4 months off with him before starting back to work as an ICU RN. When I returned to work, I quickly realized what a hassle pumping at work was going to be plugged in a wall with a traditional electric breast pump. I began researching hands free options and found Willow. After my research, I decided to make the investment with the Willow pump. This pump is a lifesaver and worth EVERY single penny! My only complaint about the Willow is that I didn’t have it from the day my son was born! There is definitely a learning curve to its use because it’s so different from traditional pumps. If you have any issues, customer service is extremely helpful as well as their help page with videos. Once I figured it out, I am no longer tied to a wall for hours of my life. I will be using Willow for all future babies and recommend anyone that is breastfeeding and pumping to get it!

Just OK

I chose Willow because it was highly recommended to me by friends--so far, I've been pumping for about 6 weeks and there are some definite cons to the product as well as the obvious pros. The best thing about Willow is that it's portable, so you can actually move around with it on, however, even with the best bra, Willow is awkward on larger breasts. It protrudes far beyond the breast, and there's no way that the pumps would be unnoticeable or even discreet--it's definitely a "Madonna circa the late 1980s" moment. You definitely couldn't get away with wearing these in "normal" situations. They also never feel all that secure when bending over, and it's difficult to pick up the baby at the same time the pumps are going.
Aligning these guys on the breast is also a real challenge, as is finding the correct flange size to avoid pinching and other pain--it's really hard to see if they're centered correctly without a mirror, and breaking the latch to reposition them is a hassle, and fills the milk bag with air, sometimes rendering it useless after a reposition attempt or two.
I've also had quite a bit of trouble with error messages from the pumps, often saying to "check assembly" but never specifiying what's wrong. It sometimes takes several attempts before they work correctly. The milk bags fit so awkwardly in the pumps too--they just get stuffed in there, and often when they're full, they push the pump away, resulting in lost milk.
Overall, the Willow pumps work decently most of the time, but the portability is the one pro in a sea of cons, and for how expensive they are (and not covered by insurance), I wish I would have just gone with a more traditional pump.
