Not perfect, but still a game changer

I initially hesitated to buy the Willow because of the price of the pump and the bags, but it turned out to be a game changer for me. I work full time and I still need to go to the "pump room" at our office, but using the Willow allows me to comfortably work on my laptop, or sit back and relax a bit, without hanging bottles or tubes in the way. I can also pump while driving, which has been crucial on days when for whatever reason I miss a pumping session. The pumps themselves are larger than I'd expected from seeing pictures; I wouldn't feel comfortable wearing them in public unless I had a big, bulky sweater on. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons for me; it's not a perfect product, but I think it's definitely a step in the right direction for breast pumps.

Game changer!

I was on the fence about this purchase for a long time, and I’m SO glad I got it. I’m an RN working 12 hour shifts and pumping at work was extremely difficult with having to go down to the lactation room for pump breaks. Getting there, plus set up and cleaning of traditional pump parts took a ton of time and ended up taking away from valuable time that I ACTUALLY needed to pump. Willow is so easy to set up and get ready in between sessions at work. I’m able to pump as much or more as before, and pump as often as I need to. Having Willow will make it easy for me to breastfeed as many months as I need to, without work getting in the way.
The only gripe I have is that it can be a little tricky to latch sometimes and seems like a glitch. Otherwise I love it!!
For me, it has paid for itself!

Pump and still live your life!

I was on the fence about getting Willow - mostly because I have a desk job and access to a pretty nice pumping room at work - so why would Willow be worth it? In short, I'm pretty sure I'll end up meeting my goal of breastfeeding for longer because of it. When I'm running short on time between meetings (or need to take a meeting anyway) it is SO much easier and faster to just pop Willow in than deal with flanges, tubes, and bras. I still use a traditional pump when I have time, but more often than not, I don't. And that's not limited to work. Willow has been a lifesaver on planes, long car trips, and theme park visits since my baby now prefers a bottle over nursing. It's also great when I just need to get things done around the house, you know, with two hands! With my first (before Willow) my supply suffered because I wasn't able to pump as regularly as I should have. Now instead of skipping or prolonging time between sessions, I have no excuses to not pump. It's relieved a lot of stress and my supply and baby are happy because of it!

A blessing

Willow has been a gift from Heaven, I was at the end of the ropes with breastfeeding and working as a office manager. Until Willow I was able to build my milk supply and pump frequently. Before Willow I considered to stop Breastfeeding and go straight to formula. Willow was a stress reliever and made it easier to travel home on weekends with milk.

Too bulky and finicky

Too finicky, so I would have to stay perfectly still and hope that it would switch modes; no way to know but wait. Also, my hand pump would get double the volume in half of the time. With the Willow, I had constant blocked ducts since it wouldn’t empty my supply enough. And I am not an over-producer. Since I bought this to save time because of my job as a surgeon (so very little time between cases), this ended up being a poor purchase. My hand pump is faster, more efficient, easier to clean, and less bulky. Love that it’s hands-free, but unfortunately I would not recommend this to a breastfeeding mom.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recommend the Willow to EVERYONE! The amount of time I have gotten back has been well worth the out-of-pocket investment. I have been able to pump while on an airplane, picking up groceries, walking around a conference, and in other situations where previously, I would have stressed to plan around being near an outlet. I no longer have to plan my life around pumping - I can do it anytime, anywhere. So so grateful for Willow!!
