My Willow 3.0 has been awesome. I exclusively pumped with my daughter since I had to return to work full time, and I had a Spectra pump. Great pump, but because of my work schedule I would have to pump in the car. It was really awkward trying to put on my pump bra in the car and hook everything up and wear a seatbelt and also attempt to stay covered so I wouldn’t freak out vehicles next to me when I was stuck in traffic! Now, I can put a nursing cover on quick, put the pumps on, and wear seatbelt without worrying about tubing sticking out, and take the cover off and not worry about it. My spectra had been given to me by a mom who had used it for her two girls, so it had a lot of miles on it (so to speak) and the battery was starting to not be as good anymore. I’m no longer working full time, and was hesitant whether or not to get a new pump. Family purchased the Willow for me, and I have to tell you I love it more than my Spectra! Now that I’m trying to keep up with my toddler daughter and a newborn son, it’s been amazing. I was hesitant to exclusively pump again because of how social we are as a family. Before, I hated having to go into our room to pump whenever we had people over or felt like I was missing out on things. I’m bigger chested so I just put on an oversized T-shirt when I wear my willows in public, and it’s no big deal. Even though I had a pumping bra with my spectra, it’s still inconvenient to carry around and you can’t really get a ton done around the house because you don’t want to tip your bottles or have them slip. Now, I can prep dinner while my kids are napping and not worry about raw foods touching the tubing going into a pump sitting on the counter. I can vacuum, fold laundry, etc. everything is in my shirt and out of the way! I pumped at church last week, just waited for everyone to be seated, went into a private room and put them on, wore an oversized t-shirt, then sat in the back for 25 minutes and then went back into the bathroom and took them off. I used the milk bags to minimize the change of a spill. It worked out great! In terms of output, I’m outputting more actually with my Willow than my spectra! Two different babies, so maybe that has something to do with it, but I’ll take it!

Convenient but not perfect

I am glad I got these, although very expensive, as a secondary set of pumps. My primary is still my set that plugs in and not as mobile. But the Willow is great to use one at a time for example, while I'm nursing my baby on one breast. I also love that I can lie down and still pump. I've had some trouble with the milk containers (vs. plastic bags) but am hoping to get it figured out with replacement parts. Using the bags one time then throwing them away also hurts my environmentalist heart a bit. Customer service has been great.

The Willow works well - and best of all doesn't make me feel like an angry cow hooked up to tubes

I like the Willow a lot. The Willow took me a little while to figure out how to use without spilling everywhere, and I prefer using the containers vs the direct pump into bags because you can get a little more volume with the containers. Once you figure out why it works the way it does, it made more sense to me - and I had more success with it, but I did have to watch a lot of the help videos before getting it right. I am very happy with this breast pump, particularly in comparison to the traditional (Spectra) breast pump I used with my first child. I used to just be so furiously annoyed when using a traditional pump, and the Willow works, and keeps me in a neutral/positive mindset. It is wearable, but it is not like you would really ever be putting it on in public without some kind of very careful covering because you do have to bear your breast to put it on and then secure it with a tight stretchy nursing bra - so a normal cup bra wouldn't work. I wish it could hold a little more volume (5-6 oz please!), I wish it was a little easier to use without throwing an error code, and I wish all the spare parts were not so ungodly expensive. It was expensive to begin with, but worth it - however the price of bags and replacements just feels like being "nickel and dimed" after you laid out for a pricey pump. Even with these three things I would never go back to a traditional pump because they make me feel like and angry cow, so the Willow was a great choice and I am so glad it exists and I would highly recommend.

Game changer!

This is a total game changer! No more worrying about tubes/wires or needing to be in close proximity to your pump. You can sit, work, be with your kids or anything you can think of! This allows us working moms who have multiple kids to be there doing whatever we need whenever-no holding us back. I bought a second hand one and it works perfectly, but now having used it I would say it’s worth the investment up front if you can!!

Convenient, efficient, preferred pump

I really love my willow 3.0 pump. I can actually hold my baby, get chores done, be around company that comes over when I have these on compared to my other pump (spectra). I still get great output like I do with my spectra. It is a little bit of a pain to wash the container parts, but they hold up well using the refrigerator method and washing and sterilizing once a day. I put all the container parts in my Baby Brezza Sterilizer and my pump works great. I use the 15mm flange inserts with my pump and they are comfortable. I use nipple butter as lubricant with each pump. The only time I had leakage while wearing the pump is when I bent all the way forward. The flip to finish was tricky to figure out at first, but it’s second nature now. I would recommend putting a Tupperware/bowl under while you learn how to do flip to finish so that if you spill any milk, you can still use it if it falls into the Tupperware. Mine spilled on to the counter and was ruined after that. I love that the pumps calculate your output and keeps a history of pump sessions on the app. There have been a few times that something threw the pump off and was calculating incorrectly stating that I pumped 10oz from one side when it was only 2oz. That issue resolved itself. If I could change anything about these pumps, it would be to make them a little more discreet. I look like Dolly Parton when I have them on. I still prefer looking like Dolly compared to having pumps hanging off of me and connected to a machine. I highly recommend this product. I’ve never tried any other wearable pump, so I don’t have anything to compare my experience to.

Love this Pump but had to Work For It
on July 19, 2023

I have been using the Willow for 4 months as my daytime pump for 3 sessions a day and I love it. As an exclusive pumper, the alternative is a bulky pump that requires you to essentially sit and do nothing, including tend to your baby, during every session. As a working mom, I invested in the Willow so that I could easily transport them to work, pump in the sealed bags, and still work at my computer while pumping, all of which would have been impossible with the standard pump. On days when I am not working, I still use the Willow so that I can multitask and even lift my baby while pumping. I did not give 5 stars because there are some major caveats to my enjoyment of the pump that I feel I must warn people of in addition to gushing over my love of the pump. There is a long learning curve so I recommend new moms get it ahead of returning to work. First, I immediately had good output from the pump but it hurt tremendously. It took me several rounds of buying increasingly smaller inserts before I got the right fit so patience is key there. Getting the hang of the "flip to finish" will make you want to pull your hair out so I recommend having a container to catch any leaking milk but eventually you figure it out through practice and youtube videos. The reusable containers are very difficult to properly clean and the milk residue in the valve can throw off the accuracy of the volume counting on the app (I recommend a q-tip). Something I still struggle with is alignment. The pumps cover your breasts completely so it is hard to tell if they are aligned properly. I spend around 2 minutes of each session removing/reapplying them onto my nipples to ensure the letdown has properly started. This used to be very frustrating but now that I expect the start-up time, I find it much more manageable than using a traditional pump where you have to sit for the full session. Lastly, it is expensive compared to other pumps. However, I would argue it is more fair to compare it to the price of formula feeding, which can be in the thousands, as this pump will allow for easier pumping when I otherwise might have given up when I went back to work. Overall, I love my Willow.

Love this pump but had to work for it

I am an exclusive pumper and have been using the Willow 3.0 wearable pump 3x a day for the last 4 months as my day-time pump. As a working mom, I invested in the 3.0 so I could have a light weight pump, leak proof bags, and work at my computer while pumping. Even at home, I can multitask in a way that the traditional pump could never accommodate. I love this pump and would recommend it to anyone on the fence about purchasing it.I would give it 5 stars but I do not feel I can do so in good conscience since the learning curve is extremely steep and I truly had to work very hard to fall in love with the Willow 3.0. First was sizing, when the flange was too big it hurt to pump but my supply was good, then when the flange was the right size my supply dipped. To adjust, I would first use the Willow then my regular pump for a few weeks. Next, the containers are very hard to clean so milk residue messes with the sensors and mis-reads volumes. I finally figured out how to best clean the valves with a qtip. The flip to finish process will make you want to pull your hair out but it just takes practice and should be done over a container at first to collect any milk that leaks until you get the hang of it (watch youtube videos). Alignment is tricky since the pumps cover your whole breast. To avoid frustration, I sit for 2-3 minutes to monitor the letdown to ensure the alignment is correct and milk is flowing. I do still use my traditional pump at night because it is less finicky, I don't need to be mobile, and I can pump right into a reusable container that I can cap/store (vs the reusable Willow that you need to pour into another container). Lastly, it's hard to recommend to others when the pump and its parts are so expensive. However, people tend to compare it to the cost of a traditional pump but I would argue you should compare it to formula feeding (which can be in the thousands). I would have probably given up breast feeding much earlier due to the inconvenience to a working mom with a growing boy. I am currently 7.5 months strong and 4.5 months left on my year-long goal which has only been achievable with my Willow 3.0.

Not super practical, but being wire free is nice
on July 26, 2023

I like being wire free, but they are bigger and heavier than I expected. It makes it hard to do more than walk around. Also , the containers seemed like a nice reprieve from buying bags until one started making the pump constantly gulp air. I’ve deep cleaned and made sure thee were no tears in the flange and it still does it. So it’s back to bags. Also, I’ve only been using it for a month. If the bags weren’t so expensive, I would probably give this 5 stars because I do like the pump itself. I’m happy with output and ease of pumping.
