Very painful! Doesn’t empty!

I’ve heard mixed reviews of this pump and I wish I wouldn’t have bought it. My nipples are in pain, my boobs are in pain.

It’s good but not perfect.

I have a hospital grade pump but my toddler likes to grab at it when I’m pumping and I can’t easily move around with it even though it’s rechargeable. Now that I have an infant, I wanted to be able to pump without my toddler grabbing at the tube and the ability to get things done while pumping was very appealing. I got a prescription from my OB and used my HSA, so I was really excited about trying this at low cost to me!
The placement and suction takes some getting used to. It’s a bit uncomfortable compared to my regular pump and the capacity is obviously lower, but the convenience is awesome! I’m hoping I get used to the feeling over time. I can’t go beyond the 3 setting without pain. I’ve pumped with the reusable containers as well as the disposable bags and I prefer the containers. I have silicone reusable bags I use to store my milk. I use a funnel but I always lose a bit of milk which is frustrating as well. The fact that I have to pour the milk from the flange means I always drip on my counter. That alone knocks a star off.
Overall I’m happy with the device, but because of the mess and need for immediate cleanup and access to water because of spillage, I can’t rate it more than four stars.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I’m very impressed with the Willow especially after reading so many reviews about leaks. I did mess up the first time I used it by not turning it over afterwards for the 8-second release, but it was completely my fault as I dived in without reading or watching the directions. I promise if you watch the instructions provided in the app and online, you will have no leak whatsoever, at least for me, I don’t have any leaks. I do exactly like the video and it’s been working every time. I use it in the car, I use it everywhere. Of course I don’t bend over with the reusable containers only the bags, but they also tell you that in the directions and in the app. I also didn’t realize it does not come with the reusable containers it only comes with the bags. Not a big deal, just order the reusable containers. It comes in handy especially if I have a busy day I can use my reusable containers, then use the bags later if I don’t get to clean them (just have to order additional tubes—where the milk flows through). My liquid has been pretty close to accurate every time I pump. The app is so convenient as you get an idea of how much you produced and it helps with keeping a log.

Love the simplicity of these pumps. I can pump anywhere anytime. They suction great and empty my breast fully. It sure makes pumping more convenient.

Subtle, but inaccurate

I like the convenience of pumping into bags or milk containers depending on my needs.
I liked the app at first because it helped me keep track of when I’d pumped. The volume measures on the app are super inaccurate. I often get a notice that the bag or container is full (4 oz.) but when I take it off, I’ve only pumped 1-2 oz. Even when I fix that, there’s no way to go in and reset the volume in the app so it ends up saying I pumped way more than I actually did.
It is pretty subtle as far as appearance and sound go.

Difficult transition from standard pump

I’m sure if you started out with this pump it may be easier. I have been pumping for twins who are 6 months old with a Spectra and Medela Freestyle. I was really looking forward to being able to care for the babies and my toddler while pumping. Check your sizing and give yourself some time to get started for days…. I used the pump, adjusted the flange size, and ended up with the sorest nipples I’ve had my whole breastfeeding experience. It’s been 2 weeks of healing and trying to get my supply schedule back to where it was. I’m hopeful I can keep working at it and get to use this pump as it really seems like a dream come true.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the convenience of not having to wear a pumping bra, or having tubes. However this pump is plagued with issues left and right. First off, I think the price of bags is ridiculous, then if you get the containers, it is nearly impossible to clean every nook and cranny even with the brushes you are provided, and lastly I spill milk all the time. I deal with these issues but I think they can improve a lot of areas.
