Peace of mind
on August 9, 2022

Willow was the answer I needed when baby#5 started teething( read biting) and I needed to store up milk this summer. My other pumping strategies just weren't cutting it and I was not up to trying out-dated, frustrating, run-of-the-mill pumps. I needed versatility and innovation and I found that with Willow! I look forward to pumping rather than dreading it, I love knowing I can move around and continue my never ending list of tasks. I would recommend willow to every mama out there with a hope for better pumping options!
I would sum up my experience with Willow as something that has given me peace of mind.

Perfect for working moms/moms who can’t sit and pump!

I purchased the Willow go to replace my elvie pump because it was higher rated suction and had the alternative 7oz containers. It has helped my breastfeeding journey so much by provided a much easier way to pump. My only complaint is the tiny hole at the top container, when I drive and it gets super full it sometimes comes out the tiny hole in the top if I hit a bump too hard. But it is SUPER easy to pour because if this hole so…

Uncomfortable

I’m trying to be patient as I’ve only used it a few times so far but it’s uncomfortable & hard to do anything around the house like I was hoping because I can barely use my arms.

Take a chance with this pump
on August 10, 2022

I was hesitant to buy this pump with all the mixed reviews but really did end up loving it. There is a learning curve, but once you get it down it’s simple. As far as pumping, I’m exclusively breastfeeding and pumping when I can to start a stash for when I go back to work. The pump fits my needs, make sure you get the correct inserts if needed (I got the smaller containers, and inserts due to flange size. Overall, I think the pump is great, I don’t think it’s as discrete as people say (im an A cup regularly) so maybe it just looks weird with the pumps in that I’m not used to having haha. I bought this pump outright, took a chance and definitely paid off. My output is decent per session and I do love the app that goes along with the pump. Likewise, the selling point for me is/was the hands free ability and I couldn’t be happier.

Great for on the go!

This pump has been a life savor, with 2 kids and being on the go! It make night time pumps while feeding the baby a breeze. It empties me better then my Medela. The only complaint I has is it takes a while to stimulate enough to start pumping.

Not what I expected

It is a learning curve for sure. I’m not happy with the fact that I can’t choose the expression level until a certain amount is pumped, and sometimes it’s not accurate. I think if I could change it, I’d pump a lot more than I’m getting. I do like that I can wear it to pump with having a newborn and toddler.

Love It After Learning Curve
on August 11, 2022

The first few times I tried the Willow I wasn’t sure how I would like it. It took a couple tries to get it aligned right. While I was getting adjusted to the Willow, it seemed like the stimulation phase lasted longer than I would have liked and took longer to get the same amount of milk vs my other pump. I gave it a few days of pumping at work to get my body used to it but did have to pump with my manual pump a couple times to get fully empty. Now that I’ve worked through the learning curve, I love my Willow! I can hook it up and sit with my coworkers in the break room during breaks and lunches without having to isolate in a different room. No one even notices I am pumping. I’m also getting the same amount when I pump than I did with my Medela. I also love the options between the milk collector containers and the bags. The various suction levels make it great to adjust to each side instead of having the same suction for both sides. Great product!

Good but needs some updates
on August 11, 2022

For my first baby, I used a standard pump with all the wires and tubes and hated feeling chained up and inconvenienced when pumping. This affected my production as it was hard to relax while pumping. With my second baby, I decided to try the Willow to see if it was a better fit and so far it’s been really good. I’m only a few days into pumping with Willow, but already I feel less stressed and my production has been more consistent and slowly growing.
There area some updates that could take the Willow from good to great. First, I want a charging stand that holds and charges both pumps at once. My personal massager has this capability and it was not nearly as expensive as the Willow, so it seems like a big miss. At the very least, the charging cable should be split to charge both pumps simultaneously or the set could come with two chargers. It’s so hard to remember to switch the plug over when I have a newborn and a million things to do. I hate feeling nickel-and-dimed to make the product functional when I’ve already purchased the product.
Second, it would be great if the app had some visualization options and/or connectivity with other baby-tracking apps. I’d like to be able to see a chart of my production over time, broken out by breast or time of day and in days/weeks/months etc. The data is already there, just need to add the visualizations to make this truly helpful for helping users plan pumping times and track progress.
Finally, I wish the full set was available with the 21mm flanges. I had to start with the 24mm to go through my insurance and it caused some serious discomfort before my 21mm containers arrived. It seems trivial to offer this to customers especially when they’ll still have to buy the containers or more bags to continue pumping.
