[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Own item for 1yr now. 2021.. it was not my first choice. Filter needs changes/cleaning allot and it will stop cooling, And you might not know it! Next THE APP is not much better ,the app (wifi models) is only seen by alexa as a temperature device not an air conditioner. So it is useless. Next, my issue is when you open the app pic, has OTHER PEOPLE PIC IN THE APP. Owners should be able to change pic. To there own pic.. since it is my Family as owner.!! Added will probably look at replacing this due too it does not get very cold. Even with ceiling fan and fans going. My 15 yr samsung is still ice cold in my family room.. i have this roll away in my small bedroom.. doors and windows closed tight. Temp 67 set filters clean and unit installed properly.. room will not get out the 80deg mark.. NOT GOOD.. 5/2022 IN CT. NOT EVEN SUMMER YET!!!

Sleek and efficient

Economical purchase to cover an add on room in our home. The results have been noted from the moment we switched it on. The install was a bit tricky as our windows evidently are not standard so the exhaust insert did not fit exactly as described in instructions.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a portable a/c that didn't work. It was difficult to contact frigidaire customer service because they apparently have 3 customer service reps, but once I did they were very helpful in sending me a free replacement unit. The new unit was easy to set up and cools my office well even on very hot and humid days. 1 star off because no matter what I do I cannot get their app to work - the unit is supposed to output a WiFi network with a particular name but its networkhad a different name, and my phone can't connect to it. Also the remote is useful but doesn't allow you to change modes. Despite these issues I'm happy with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 6/10/21 i bought this unit. I research and my first choice was the lg inverter portable but sadly they are back ordered everywhere!! My next rush to buy i bought this frigidaire ghpc132ab1 unit.. not what i wanted but the need was there..i still have the box in my living room. Because i am still not sure how to rate?? Number 1. Very hard to get Alexa/Google connected they seem not to know what to call it.. it is Not on Alexa air conditioner device list.. it is found as a thermostat!??? That sucks! 2nd i can not set a 30min or 1hr by hr timer!? That is an over site when u want to turn it on for a short time..without going into app for scheduling..so it does get cold and frosty. But it does not have the controls on it or remote that lg does..i have until july to return it. But if i where u. Get LG model inverter. If you can find it...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased this portable air conditioner to run when we have peak hours, hoping it does not cost as much to run ad central AC.Our son installed it for us but it did not look to difficult. It does keep the house cool, but it is very noisy. The noise is the biggest drawback.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Waking up in the middle of the night with this unit. Too many loud noises. Wish I kept the box so that I could return.

BEWARE
In April, 2022, I purchased 3 Frigidaire Gallery Portable 13,000 BTU A/C units, model GHPC132AB1. Two units function as advertised, the third unit did not and was uneven on the floor and leaked water continuously after operating for 20 minutes.
But there is a serious design shortcoming and it has to do with installation. The product is designed only for an installation for double-hung and sliding sash windows. It cannot be installed for casement, awning or hopper windows!!!
I live in Manhattan, and I have 14 casement windows in my apartment. The building has over 900 hundred casement windows. If one considers the number of buildings in Manhattan alone, hundreds actually, with casement windows, the product is unusable. Additionally, new buildings with sliding sash windows cannot use the system because most are six feet tall, and the window kit is too short.
I have an Italian DeLonghi Pinguino A/C portable unit as well. I t comes with a window kit that includes a hood, a exterior flap closer, and an interior cap when the unit is off. The purpose of this piece is to prevent rain from entering the unit when it is idle, and to cap off the interior opening in winter when the unit is removed for storage. The flap is important when the unit is idle because if it is low to the ground, as shown in company literature, or near a terrace garden, ants will crawl in since there is no way to prevent it.
The Window Kit Connector is very large, 4”x 8”, large enough for flies and bees to enter when unit is idle. There is no protection available.
As an architect, I designed a panel to replace a window pane that includes a hood to prevent rain from entering, and when inactive, a tight, laser-cut closer panel the size of the 4”x 8” Window Kit to avoid ants and other insects from nesting in the Exhaust Hose and the machine itself.
CONCLUSION
The design was not thought through carefully to accommodate a range of window types, and the information on the web site is lacking and hence misleading.
