Soap with splinters

The soap smells fine and cleans well, but the steel cut oats are more like giant chunks of wood. Maybe the photo is wrong? The picture shows small brown flecks. What I received had chunks of extremely hard plant material nearly 1/2" in size. I understand exfoliation, but this would have worked well for removing rust from my grill.
