D NOT FORCE IT IN. Slide the filter in with the arrows pointing to left and right. When it reaches the end and it stops moving STOP. Do not push any further. GENTLY and PERSISTENTLY turn the handle clockwise while pushing GENTLY in. It will lock it in place within 1 and half turns. The arrows will point UP.

Hold Unlock Button FIRST to reset filter light.

When resetting the filter light, you must hold the unlock button FIRST for 3 seconds. The Samsung manual doesn't explain that. I found a YouTube and he explained it which made it simple. One little detail and much wasted time and aggravation could have been avoided. After you unlock, hold the reset filter button for 3 seconds. It will reset. Then hit the lock button again for 3 seconds to relock.

Scam?

Original filter factory installed had no leaks. Time to change it and as soon as a new one is installed the leaks begin. Is this an intentional filter design on the replacements to cause damage to the housing? Is this done to create service? If I’m only to use a genuine replacement but my genuine replacement causes damage and leaks then I am lost here and can only question the intention.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent water filter

I live in the Midwest. I tested our city water and it is not anything I would drink. I never let my kids drink. For years I bought bottled water. After buying a Samsung fridge with water dispenser, I tested the water after putting in the filter. That is the best water filter Ever. Water tested, amazingly clean. Not afraid to drink the water from our Samsung fridge. Don’t believe me test the water yourself.
I would recommend this to a friend!

TDS tester reads 430 ppm!

Replaced filter, bled the system and my TDS tester still read 430ppm! This is unacceptable! My previous home RO system was .025 ppm.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for reaching out regarding your experience with the Samsung HAF-QIN filter. I understand you're concerned about the high TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) reading, especially after replacing the filter and bleeding the system.
It's important to note that the Samsung HAF-QIN filter is designed for Samsung water filters to meet NSF/ANSI standards 42, 53, and 401, ensuring a reduction in various contaminants from your drinking water, including chlorine, lead, mercury, and emerging contaminants like pharmaceuticals., but it may not reduce TDS levels to the extent that a reverse osmosis (RO) system does. RO systems typically produce much lower TDS readings, operating on a different filtration principle designed specifically for TDS reduction.

Faulty Filter

First few filters functioned fine. The last filter was faulty causing water to leak inside the fridge. Hoping to be offered a replacement at the very least
