Review for Dell G3 15.6" Gaming Laptop

The laptop works but it is very generic. The sound card is a cheap generic one. I am thinking of buying an external sound card with bass boost and with usb to use for better sound quality. The laptop is quite lightweight which some people like but I don't like it because it heats up quite fast. When it gets hot, the fan comes on and is quiet which is a good thing. The battery does not last as much as I thought. I have to recharge it every one and a half hours. This computer is made of hard plastic but it works well. I want to see how long it lasts before the hinges start to break and fall apart. Overall the computer works. Thanks.

Great specs, awful screen

The specs are very good for the price; it's a great mid to high range laptop for $1700 CAD, boasting a powerful GTX 2060 GPU, 16GB of ram, and one of the newer intel laptop CPUs. But it all comes crashing down when you boot up the system.
You'll notice that the screen has a sickly yellow tint, like you're viewing it with sunglasses on. There's no real way to calibrate this. I spent hours of my time trying to find a solution with the built-in intel colour adjustment app, as well as messing with colour profiles and other online recommendations, but no dice. In fact, if you try to tweak the colours (you adjust reds, blues, and greens) in order to try and make it look better, you'll end up staring at a screen that starts hurting your eyes after about 30 minutes, because the amount of tweaking required to make it look somewhat lcose to "Normal" sets the bluelight to such a high level that it causes eye strain.
If you're desperate, go for it. But there are other options out there.

I've had it for a week or so and it has handled everything pretty well for games like apex and cs I haven't had any issues but it does run hot and the vents could be improved on but it does its job I would recommend it.

This laptop compared to other laptops at this price point is a complete disappointment. Do not buy it unless you really want to. Dell is really not good at making gaming laptop so I would recommend getting it from rog or asus.

Bought it and had to return

The Specs are amazing and the laptop feels good to use. However it runs HOT, it crashed on my several times due to heat even after playing with BIOS, reducing boost mode and increasing fan speed. :(

Great computer for the first month. One day it just would not boot up. Power on, fans running, that's it. No display or extended display, just a black screen. Bestbuy help referred us to Geek Squad who referred us back to Bestbuy. Once we get this resolved I'm done with Bestbuy because of the low level of service. Better to buy from a smaller computer shop who will have some concern when something goes wrong.
