No Luck with Gold Blender, have not tried this one

Great basic blender!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender is a simple machine to use but gets great results every time. I love the sleek look of it. I have used it for everything from smoothies to hummus and hot soup and I'm never disappointed.

Blades are so dull!

I bought this last night, and when I opened to wash it today, I noticed that the blades are super dull. I rubbed my fingers hard on them, and not even a little bit sharp. So disappointing. I was looking between this one and an Oster, but chose Black & Decker based on the name having a good reputation. So disappointed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

perfect blender

This blender crushes ice instantly and makes superb smoothies packed full of frozen fruit, yogurt, potein powder, juice, and soy milk. It also makes great creamed soups. But perhaps its best feature is the self-cleaning setting. Just fill the pitcher 1/3 full with hot water and a dollop of dish detergent, pop it on the blender, set to quick clean for 30 seconds, then rinse with hot water, disassemble, and place in the dish drainer. No more scrubbing, risking a finger puncture on the blades. The only features I don't like: When blending it's very loud (I had to put a potholder under it to try to muffle the noise), and it's not easy to switch between control buttons quickly--they're hard to depress. Still, it's so much better than the Oster I had before.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this blender for free for my review. Great heavy duty glass blender with a tightly fitted lid. This blender has a lot of power with 700w. It has a QuadPro Blade which makes crushing ice a breeze or pulverizing items like cookies and crackers easy. There are 4 control buttons. The easy clean button makes clean up quick. I just put water and a little soap and run it. Super easy and I light the design. Comes with a recipe/instruction booklet Great price for a blender which usually sells for about 40.
