I bought the Weber Smart grill to replace an old Sam’s Club Bbq and this one far out performs it. I love the Smart features and they seem accurate, however I can’t connect the app to my Apple Watch which is a bit of a bummer.

What a pleasure it was to assemble this grille. Great packaging, all parts included. Easy instructions. High quality parts that fit as they were designed to fit. Recommended 2 people for assembly but not really needed.

Grills Great and Tech Can Be Useful

I'm fairly new to owning grills but i've grilled plenty of times. Overall I think this grill works very well. It heats up fast, evenly, and looks great! I had this assembled by Home Depot and there were some assembly issues, but Weber customer service took ownership and made things right by sending out replacement parts.
Pros:
* Looks great and feels like a quality product
* Grills food good and evenly. Fire licks the food, but not burning the food
* First time I've used a temperature probe, but it's awesome and it's convenient that it's built in
* I haven't figure out how to maximize the app, but it's nice to monitor temps on the phone
* Included light that attaches to the handle is useful. It automatically turns on/off depending if the hood is opened/closed
* Great customer service by a company that cares about their customers

* The temperature gauge is only digital. You need to turn on the battery powered Weber connect to read the temperature. I wish they just left the temp gauge on the hood like for the non-smart grills so it can also function just as a non-smart grill.
* I wish it had a rechargeable battery built in or power plug in option. You can connect an external battery pack by i think micro usb, but haven't tried it yet.
* I wish there were more "smart" features. The main feature is grill temperature and probe temperature monitoring and alerts. You can't set a temperature remotely.

Tips:
* Don't turn on the grill right after opening propane valve. It may go into some safe mode where your grill won't get hotter than about 350F. It was very confusing to me when it happened.

Night grilling is easy with the built in lighting system. Remote management from smart phone is helpful. Grill is sturdier and cooks more evenly than earlier Genesis models.
