Works Great After Training

Really love this stove. Everything tastes better cooked over a wood fire and the fuel is free if you look around. DO NOT just grab this stove out of the box and go camping with it unless you've used one before. We took this set to our local park after we watched several YouTube videos and found there was a learning curve on the use of the uf the stove, types of wood, placement of the food on the grill and the charging capacity. Learning the stove is part of the fun of camping abd after mastering some of the stoves abilities it's almost an art to make great steaks or burgers. Nothing is perfect out there ( gas stoves use expensive fuel, charcoal is messy and slow. pit fires are restricted some places, etc.) but if you train yourself on a piece of equipment you'll learn to think ahead and have fun. PS hard wood has more resin in it and burns hotter and longer than dried out pine or fir. The lighter the piece of DRY WOOD the less the resin and shorter the burn time. The pellets and some types of smoking chips seem to work best...but are not free.

I bought my CampStove over 10 years ago. As a Scout Master, I took it everywhere and in every clime. Even in windy, cold weather, the CampStove performed better than expected. It still works today just as it did new.

Brilliant little grill

Bought this about a month ago and did not know how well it would do. Needless to say this little grill hit it out of the park. It’s super efficient on pellets, heats the entire surface of the grill extension barely any smoke and charges the battery pretty well. Also, it is sturdy and super well thought out. Kudos on ingenuity. It took a minute for me to figure out how to light the pellets but once I got that it was amazing. Now I am a solid eater so most grills are just too little for veggies, chicken breast and bread, but it all fit and cooked quick. I am a fan and I own all of them. This is now my favorite, so, I bought a back up set. Cannot recommend more.

Great upgrade to the original

If you’re thinking about getting this do it now and pay for upgraded shipping to the east coast. Because shipping took two weeks after FedEx received it. Just in case you need it for a trip. Be aware that shipping to New England is brutally slow. I would’ve upgraded but I’m a cheapo.
On to the review. One of my biggest gripes with the original one was how finicky it was. No matter the fuel it was always a bit of a pain. Either smokey or burned too fast. They seem to have fixed that completely.
I also love that it is a battery pack so the thermoelectric is being put to use even if I don’t have a USB connected. It should have a USB C but A works fine with adapters.
The LED light was gimmicky until I used it. Really necessary great accessory. So NOT a gimmick, I stand corrected.
Power output seems much stronger than my old one, by at least two times I think.
Get it, it’s fun and a great stove. Like I said if you need it fast spring for upgraded shipping or be patient if you’re in New England.

Got mine three years ago for deer hunting. Even on ATVs gotta watch the weight…and GOOD fuel is heavy! (I prefer bone-dry white oak or sugar maple cut-offs from my shop.) I cut and then split mine in various sizes (from splinters to perhaps 3” x 1” and 4” long.) This thing boils water incredibly quickly. The grilling feature needs additional development. There are problems - with hot spots, grill stability and refueling while grilling. But the light is really helpful and the charger could save your butt! And I’ve used mine probably 15-20 times and my battery still works very well. But resign yourself to continually moving your backstraps around the grill or they will cook terribly unevenly. Having basically grown up outdoors and then became a “techno-freak”, I NEVER use a new product on a serious trip unless I have personally USED it before…just sayin’!
