Perfect For an Old Barn

I bought this lighting package with two extra string lights about 4 months ago. I am so glad I did. I have a barn that is well over 100 years old and the thought of putting electric in it , and having it burn down accidentally due to an electrical fire was not really an option. I liked this because it was easy to install and the fact that it had a radio was the best part as I like to have music as I’m cleaning stalls and such. Last night I even forgot to turn off the radio and it was still playing this afternoon with plenty of battery life left on a cloudy rainy day. No more barn chores in the dark for me.

So far it has been an excellent solution and addition to our tree house. The kids use of the tree house has doubled since installing it and use it for sleep over and over nights.

Does not work

After I day in Sun - at least 6 hours - the unit does not function. If you unplug the solar charging cord and plug it back in the unit displays a brief - 2-3 second - message with the hardware and software number. This defect seems to be well known and reported by others. Need a quick (overnight) replacement of defective component.

I am overjoyed with this product. I love the USB ports and the FM radio, but here are a few areas for improvement: 1. The Battery capacity Is too small. 2. The left & right arrow buttons should be Beefier. They are already wearing out and I’ve only been using it for a week. Actually the system should scroll through all of the various info screens automatically, That way I would not have to toggle left and right to check things like: battery, Sun and charging status. 3. There really should be one more light. If it came with one extra light I could utilize the daisychain function more. 4. The motion sensor is great but it should also have a photovoltaic sensor as well, there is no reason for it to be going on when it senses motion during the day. 5. I wish the plastic was black instead of that teal aqua blue color (Yuck). Lol.
