Great bit can leave you suddenly in the dark

I've owned this headlamp for about 2 years and mostly use it in short increments like taking the dogs out, or for 20 mins during morning walks until the suns up. I've used it on longer night trail runs and a few short backpacking trips. The battery life is good but I wish there was some sort of vibration warning in the headband or tone alert when you had about 5-10 mins of battery left. I was left mid trail run (on a rocky section) suddenly in the dark. I had a backup lamp and could quickly stop on the trail so it wasn't an issue, but it could have been a different story.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bright light, maybe a little too bright for close contact with others! But battery at the back is a little uncomfortable if using the light for reading while lying down.

Just failed on me

Bought this a year ago. Use most days. Was in the military so I've tried and tested quite a few headtorches. Comfortable fit and lightweight but the band becomes very dirty since it can't be washed very efficiently. Looks very scraggy now. Good range of illumination but limited beyond 5m. Excellent for closeup tasks and red light a bonus. Battery lasts about 2.5 hours depending on settings and I always needed max illumination. This becomes a pain after a while and I therefore now run two headtorches which is a bit bonkers. Unfortunately, the unit has just failed and now will not turn on despite best efforts. An expensive failure frankly. Great as a backup (or dog walks, etc) and I love the company's intent - but it's just not robust enough for serious adventuring.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Your headlamp's battery on its highest setting should last about 3.5 hours. The beam distance for the flood and spot settings is much farther than the 5M you mentioned here. Battery doesn't last

When I first bought this headlamp, I was happy with it, albeit a bit surprised by how short the battery life was. I've used it for just over a year now and now the battery won't stay charged for more than 20 minutes - even though the indicator says the battery is fully charged, it will just die unexpectedly. I'm very disappointed by this as the headlamp is not cheap and I thought I was buying a sustainable product.

Battery doesn't last

I like the low profile light and the battery pack isn't too heavy and annoying.
Unfortunately after a year of regular use t the battery life of the headlamp tanked hugely. It lasts about an hour or two now before dying but when I plug it in gives 2 lights to show it's partially charged. Looks like there are other similar reviews below too, wish I had read them before I bought it.
The elastic didn't take long to get stretched out, because of the battery pack tightening options are restricted.
This will steer me away from future BioLite products which is a shame because they seem to have a good company model.
I have already reached out to their support who offered me a 20% discount on a new headlamp which isn't enough to have me consider buying another of their products.

Worked great then it didn't

I've had this light about 18 months and I love it. Use it at work and recharge it for the next day. Has been flawless until now. Switch was intermittent for a few days. Couldn't turn it off a few times. Now it will not turn on.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is very light weight light and it starts on the red light so I don't blind myself or others trying to get to the red light. Great choice!

Good concept, poor execution

I have tried to use this head lamp for 4 weeks of camping out. The lamp is lightweight, band is comfortable. Does not work comfortably to use it while trying to read while lying in your tent. Big battery on the back acts as a pillow. OUCH!
My biggest complaint is how the on/off and lighting change works. Or I should say doesn't work. I have to cycle through the button many times to get it to the light I want. Sometimes I give up because I can't get beyond the red light.
