I do love how the battery is in the back which gives it good balance.
However it does have a few flaws.
The light control button should be relocated cause while running it is difficult to change light patterns, cause the button is on top of the light. Small button hard to feel with a finger. The light itself is good enough but I wish the flood was on both sides of the direct beam to even out the light pattern.
Even with a few flaws it is still much better than other head lamps.

I'm giving this a 2 star - because I already own this light and it's awesome. Ordered this for my husband as a Christmas gift.
However - I ordered the light on Dec 14th (and I didn't order Teal- I ordered red) and it still hasn't even shipped yet.
Two emails to the company and zero response.
Sooooooooooo - maybe I'll get my husbands headlamp in January? Who knows?

I live off the grid in the country and have bought dozens of different headlamps. The switch is very difficult to use, especially with gloves. The coiled cord is annoying and tangles the left side of the lamp. There are too many "modes" - engineers need to get a new hobby. You can dim the modes, but the mode resets to full on after a day or so (why?).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have owned quite a few headlamps and this one is by far the finest. The others cost far less, but most or all of them were by brands of battery companies and they either came with no batteries or one set of alkaline non-rechargeable ones. So if you add the cost of rechargeable AAA batteries into the calculation you would be getting close, but this product would still cost you more - and it is well worth the perhaps 2X the cost!
The engineering and quality are superb. The beams are even with not a trace of optic variance in both the spot and wide modes. This is the brightest lamp I've ever owned (even though they make brighter), and with the dimming feature the battery need not be drained at the fastest rate if you only need a dimmer light. The ergonomics of putting the battery at the back really is much better. Not only is the weight back where it does not bother you, the thin light module does not shine off my glasses like the other lamps I've owned. My others compelled me to wear a baseball cap to remedy that problem! This may also be due to the great optics, perhaps the cheap ones have stray beams going sideways down to my glasses?
The single button operation is intuitive and the locking feature should be on every single button electric device. On my other headlamps I was compelled to place a small piece of paper between the battery end and contact to keep them from turning on in my pack. As long as I remember to lock this one with the 8 second press, I should be all set.
Even the adjustment design, with clips on both side of the head work like a charm.
I just hope the battery, which is not replaceable, lasts for enough charge cycles for me to feel it adds even more satisfaction to the value proposition! However, it already feels like a great investment after just the first use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great headlamp

I really this lamp : really light, simple to use, bright enough, the adjustable brightness is great.
But I have two complains :
- Micro-usb and not usb-c
- the red light is too bright and not adjustable. While camping, my friends complained about the too bright red light and the headlamp doesn't allow to orient it directly to the ground.
